That would be LRT, and as soon as he's given a go there (rather than functioning as the 3rd Leyland Brother) he'll prove it. IMO

Hey hey I completly agree. How long has it been since he played CHB? 4 games? Two months? *sigh* Why bother draft rookies anyway...?

Isn't Vogels or Grundy or one of them already a ready-built CHB, with actual decent football experience? If so, why would you choose LRT ahead of one of these?

Roos has already been quoted as saying he intends to have LRT in as CHB this weekend.

Roos seems to really like LRT, but that doesn't really answer my question.

Well we could conjecture all day that LRT has the video locked away somewhere of Roos or Colless with farmyard animals or Shane Crawford.

Or that Roos is an opposition plant.

              Or we could assume that:

              a) Roos thinks LRT is better than anyone else he's got for the roll he wants him to play, or

              b) Roos thinks it's worth persevering with LRT because he can see his usefulness in the future - and can see that potential as greater than anyone else at present for the same position.

              c) a combination of a) and b) applies.

How can he though - LRT is going to have to share ruck duties with Goodes for at least one more week.

I've heard good things from people who have seen some of our bigger guys in the reserves - I'd be interested to see if anyone can comment on these guys.

                    From the Australian:

"The coach said he planned to use the other emergency ruckman, Lewis Roberts-Thomson, in a centre half-back role and that midfielder Jarred Moore, 19, would get his first game on Saturday night against Essendon."

My prediction is that the LRT experiment will end this year with LRT heading for the SANFL, VFL or WAFL. I think the Swans have been more than reasonable if he gets played in the seniors for the next couple of weeks but I get the vibe that the plan is to guts it out for the season. Anyone who thinks the reserves isn't the place for him should rewatch the moment on the W/E when he gathered the ball magnificently at half back and then stood stll for a few seconds in a daze waiting to be tackled.

3 big guys in the Ressies

Vogels and Grudy are forwards who have both done well, Vogels has perhaps been the more consistent, where as Grundy has improved markedly from his early not so great preseason offerings.
Campbell is the other possible KPP and he's played more in the back half. He reminds me very much of the big ex-Melbourne player we had last year (can't remember his name). Probably just not up to the AFL.

So basically there's no help there for CHB in the ressies.

The thing that stood out amongst the bigger players in the pre-season when they were playing in the same team was that LRT was a standout down back.

Whether he'll ever get a go there is another question, it's round 6 and it hasn't happened yet.

                          VOGELS!!

Bring him in, and give him a run ahead of LRT IMO!

I find it bizarre to even imagine LRT being a standout in a game of AFL.

I reckon it couldn't hurt to give Vogels or Grundy a try at CHB.

I talk to Pazza from BF on MSN pretty regularly and he was VERY disappointed that we drafted Campbell before Essendon did. Seemed to think that he would have played senior football for the Don's this year.

H'm yes let's paly someone else out of position, after all the Goodes experiment was such a sterling success and the plan to injure Gardner's knee by playing Tiger on him came close to ending the West Coast ruckmans year.
That's probably a little harsh but I'd like Roos to try plan A before we move on to C and D.

Was Pazza from BF on MSN disappointed after the North Sydney game?
