If Peverill is their Kirk then Laycock may well be their Goodes in the way he is playing ruck.

It's him and Lovett that I'm most worried about this Saturday.

Speaking of Lovett, anybody catch that snippet of the presser for this match where Roos was chatting up Lovett on who he's been playing on, etc. etc. then Sheedy walks in and booms "Stop trying to recruit my players". Funny!!!!!

I think it means "at least the opponents will mark it (or kick it) if we don't".

Does this mean that we are tackled more by opponents than any other team, bar one?

If so, it either means we're very slow or lends credence to the suggestion that part of the reason for the congested nature of our games is that our opposition tries to apply pressure to us, realising that is the way to stop our Plan A.

                A few corrections:
                - Firstly our defence is one of our strongest points this year, don't worry what any of the stats say given how **** our midfield is the backline has been doing a superb job.
                - Spot on on the midfield lacking depth, however, whilst McVeigh makes a good small defender he makes an awful defensive midfielder. When he plays in the midfield he is, or at least is best when making the play and this is where he should (IMO) be used.
                - Mark Johnson is best used as a small forward with occasional runs in the midfield, he is rarely asked to do a defensive job - only when the team is missing players or against a freo.

Apart from that a decent effort.

                  Hello again hird_god.

How do you see the matchups?
                  Fletcher on Hall
                  Bradley on Vogels
                  Zantuck/McPhee on O'Keefe

Will McPhee play as third man up on Hall or will he play further up the field?
                  Who will take O'Loughlin?
The midfield is interesting. Will Kirk play on Johnson while Peverill tries to play on Kirk or will Peverill take J Bolton and Ablett take Johnson.I always get matchups wrong so I am just saying these things to get something started.

It also means we give the bal lto players who are hot, do not Shepherd, and do talk, to players with the ball, (ala McV the other week against the Dees).

My wife reckons that Damien Peverill looks like the kind of guy who should be operating a ride at a carnival in some country town.
It's very hard to live in a studio apartment in San Jose with a man who's learning to play violin. That's what she told the police when she handed them the empty revolver.

Sheedy may run McPhee off MOL, I think every opposition coach would look at MOL and say heres where we create our running play out of the backline.

                        Cheers

That would be a win for us as Mick plays out of the goalsquare.
McPhee is damaging because he marks at half back and also sets up the attacks from there.Being back in the goalsquare would impact his effectiveness.Just my opinion

I take your point unless McPhee runs the ball out of 50 or runs off MOL up the field. Will be interesting who Essendon use on him.
