Yep.

Ablett still has a lot to prove. Plus they've already said they wont go outside the leadership group. I think Kirk will do a good job and is one of our best players week in, week out. But I think we want a leader who can step up and win us a game with a moment of brilliance (like Voss, Hird can), then it should go to Goodesy or Barry Hall.
i think goodes, hall, kirk and j bolton would each make worthy captains. goodes and hall however each have that "matchwinner" streak that i think puts them ahead of the others. finally, having established his credentials in all important areas and the appointment being made on merit, it would be a fantastic thing to have an aboriginal captain.
then again, i think it would be worth trying 15-16 players on field so what would i know
Give it to Hall, your most influential player on the ground when he's on song I think the captaincy will further improve him as a player and continue his increase in maturity and responsibility since the saints days.
i think sydney gets a bit over excited re barry hall. hes not captain material in my mind - good example is the 100m penalty from the west coast game. captain needs to be influential all over the ground, not just leading out of the F50!
kirk however i liken to cressa, hard work rate, and even though hes a senior player he seems like he has some years left in him.
Midfielders make the best captains because they can roam all over the ground when necessary to instruct the troops. It's harder for a forward or backman to be a captain for this reason.
Thus we should have Captain Kirk.
PS: I loved the bit on the Footy Show last Thursday when they did a photoshop of Kirk, Goodes and two other Swans in Star Trek uniforms. I did enjoy TFS more last Thursday than at any time for many months because the Swans actually got coverage for a change.
