Absolutely, but we are desperate for a KPP backman.
...so desperate we are playing LRT!
You see the horror of the dilemma.

Yep - so effective he was benched!!

But you forget NMW, that all his goals were lucky.

Vogels game is more suitable to a forward than a defender. Should leave him to develop as a forward to see if he makes it before moving him to somewhere else.

Ah, of course. And Essendon were lucky just to be close to us. And we are very lucky to have such a talented youngster in a key position, unlike those hacks such as Rivers, Miller, Maguire, McPharlin, Polak, Livingston, Charman, Playfair, White, Laycock...

Disagree. He looked better to me when forced to do the defensive work. Not saying he cant be used up forward as a change, but we desperately need a tall, strong, smart, marking KPP at CHB. LRT obviously isn't there yet and may well never be.

I say try Vogels at CHB now, while the season is young, and stick LRT back into the seconds for a month.

I think most guys who can play CHF can also play CHB. In many ways the latter is easier to play than the former.

What if Vogels fails in that experience? That would destroy his career instantly. I would rather see Vogels is left to make a name for himself as a forward first where he is most comfortable.

His defensive skills for a forward is good, however they are different to the skills required to play as a key backman. I dont think Vogels is quick enough to play on a leading forward or strong enough to play on a bigger-body key forward type.

Firstly, you should realise that he has played quite a bit of senior footy already, so him "failing" and therefore "destroying" his career is unlikely. He may not become the greatest CHB ever, and we may find someone better, but he cannot be a worse experiment than LRT.

You should also know that he only played CHF towards the very end of his last season with Terang-Mortlake. Till then he played on the wing and in defense. And like NMW said, its actually easier to play CHB than CHF. Its also where we have a real weakness IMO, so I rest my case.

I used to play CHF, then they put me CHB for one game. Needless to say, the next week I was back at CHF. Is there any math there to do?

I thought you were stuck in the midfield with me.

Particularly that one from 70 metres out on the boundary. Wind got it just at the right time. Lucky Lucas they call him.
