    who's going on cornes?

who's going to close down cornes in their backline and prevent their run?

saddo is my first guess as he's performed down forward and must have picked up some defensive technique along the way.
then again, i think it would be worth trying 15-16 players on field so what would i know

Yeah saddo is a good option. ideally they would want to drag him up the wings to take him outta the "hole" and thus reduce his effective marking inside 50 and his role of setting up play etc.......

i reckon ROK is a good option also

Can try Vogels on him depending on the state of the game. Good experience for the lad, and he may well surprise a little.

It doesn't matter who is "on" him.The most important thing is the ball is kicked to him within goal scoring distance so Cornes has to go with him.
We have seen Bizzell and McPhee in recent weeks just hang around Barry like a bad smell knowing that they can't be hurt by their man .
Either the forward they are supposed to be marking goes up the field and is no danger or he makes a lead which is continually ignored as the ball is kicked to Barry.
Until the forward that these blokes are supposed to mark becomes a goal scoring threat then Barry is going to have to beat 2 men in every marking contest.

After McPhee last week I would rather not!
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

I think Saddo could do it well. The player in question needs to lead away from Hall and be a genuine target so as to make Cornes accountable, plus he needs to be able to play defence on Cornes and stop his rebound.

I was thinking the player on Cornes should drag him to and keep him in the goal square or wide in a FP. Keep him well away from the 50 where he normally rebounds from.

I hope Cornes plays on Hall, as Cornes really struggles when he actually has to play on someone.

                    Wakelin will play on Hall.

Cornes will fill the hole in front of Bazza, with Wakelin permanently on Bazza.

Based on Roos comments this week, it seems more likely he will use Goodes on him as a ruckman/forward.

You would think so. Baz has a fair record on him.

Is it definite that Cornes is even playing?

I'm pretty sure that Chad Cornes is not playing due to his knee injury.
