Interesting how we all see things differently. I would have classified Schauble's game as pretty solid and thought that it was the first game he did actually look pretty comfortable out there.
I'm also not sure that Hall is really out of form. He might not have hit the heights - yet - of last year but he's still getting a decent amount of ball and using it pretty well. He's been rated in the top 10 players in the league by the Champion ratings for the past two weeks, ratings that focus more on effectiveness than raw stats.
"[T]here are things that matter more and he's reading and thinking about them: heaven, reincarnation. Life and death are the only things that are truly a matter of life and death. Not football."
I agree with everything in the match report except the comment about Schauble, who I think played a good, intelligent game of football.
Occupational hazards:
I don't eat animals since discovering this ability. I used to. But one day the lamb I was eating came through to me and ever since then I haven't been able to eat meat.
I would have to agree that it was the first time it felt like footy weather. There's something about the crisp air, the pulling on of red and white beanies and scarves... tis footy season people, and just like Big Kev says: I'm excited!
I did want to mention Vogel's efforts, faking the kick [in the 3rd?] then offloading, a play which eventually resulted in a goal, if my (woeful!) memory serves me correctly. I was impressed, and this from a rookie too! Solid.
Jude played consistently, though did feature less against Port as opposed to Essendon the week previously. He's been playing well all season, and has stepped up since Maxfield's departure, perhaps in preparation for the passing of the baton? Nonetheless, I hope he continues to do so for he's one of the team's most reliable workhorses.
On the whole (and as I have probably mentioned) I love it when they play with fire and passion. Sure, the goalkicking was wayward, but there's nothing better to watch than those who pick themselves off the ground and chase the ball down again.
What's not to love about a team that can still rise above their errors [and I mean that in the nicest possible way] and win?
And you can't find nothing at all,
If there was nothing there all along.
good read there and well done to all the people who write those reports - top stuff
