The article in the DT today talked about how Roos feared our team might be too tall and how he would probably drop one "in-form" taller player.

In that case, surely he only needed to drop LRT (if we ignore the "in-form" part of the comment!)

Surely they haven't dropped Schauble. He gives the backline some structure when he is up and running. Can't see him not playing.

If he isn't playing then Roos has gone stark raving mad. Bugger match ups, what if Eade decides to put a couple of talls up front if Schaubs and LRT are out. That will play havoc with his little red wagon.

These days to play too much with matchups is very dangerous because you don't know who is playing. Teams rarely line up as published. Go with the best 22 I say.

I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

Wow! Slightly surprising decision to drop Schauble. So McVeigh, Schneider and Moore all get their chance together and you would think that poor ol'e Nicks is on his last chance (good luck to him though!).

Thought we may have kept Schauble as an option to play up forward to stretch the Bulldog defence.

Seems like the theme for both teams is to RUN, RUN and RUN some more!!

If Williams pulls out at the last minute, interesting to see whether Schaubs or LRT gets the nod.

            Go Swannies on Sunday!

I doubt whether Schauble will be dropped the more I think about it. I can't remember if he has ever been dropped at the Swans and it is rare to see any player in form to be dropped. In his case in particular they were sweating on getting him back.

              A ruse I think.

You're probably right Nico. This has "late change" written all over it!

                Sunday 12:30pm:

                Out: Williams
                In: Schauble
                Swannies for life!

AFL website says he has been

Schauble, Lew-Bob-Tom, and Schneider the three cut from the 7 man bench

Interesting move to cut our CHB and FB, but I suppose the Doggies run a very short forward line

Having said that, I wouldn't really be surprised to see Schaubs recalled if Williams doesn't come up

And he was a club spokesman on drugs earlier in the week.

Thanks Schaubs you are a great clubman and our best full back option, but we are going to kick you right in the guts and drop you for playing well.

Team balance is all that counts, even if we bring in a short, overweight, outside playing forward pocket who refuses to chase in the forward line and needs everything to fall his way to perform, and an elder statesman who was out of form at his last 2 outings at senior level.

Not a description I've heard levelled at Willo before.

I find it very strange that Schauble has been dropped . He gives the backline much needed stability, direction and height. In addition to these qualities his form has been 1st class. I know that the Doggies are not the biggest team in the AFL but we will nearly be turning out a team of midgets. I only hope that the selection panel know what they are doing with the match ups.

That's how he normally describes Schneider, so I assume that's whom he was referring to.
Captain Logic is not steering this tugboat.

Yes, I did realise that. I was just confused by another spiteful spray at a player not even selected in the team.

Not overly surprising if you analyse the makeup of the Doggies team. They've been playing Robert Murphy and Brad Johnson in key forward positions, and they would probably run off taller guys like Schauble and LRT too easily.

The only surprise is that the players cut were named in the starting 18. I've never seen that before, I've always assumed that you could only cut from the extended bench.

So Roos does as many including you have asked on RWO, and dropped LRT and gone with a younger team for once, and STILL you complain.

There is no pleasing some people.
