    Spoon

I went to the Freo Kangas game and saw some bloody good footy. Compared to this....Sydney v Hawthorn was like watching an u/10's match.
I fear we are returning to the halcyon days of late 80's early 90's. I have dusted off the spoon and am reading to spank anyone that gives me the ****s with it!
For so long I have defended the list with wanker Eagles and Dockers supporters but I am starting to give up!
In one word our list can be described with the word MEDIOCRITY.

You feel like such an idiot (again)...putting your money (thousand or so dollars in season tickets for family) where your heart but not your brain is. Although I didn't expect THAT much from the team this season...it's turning out to be like all the other recent ones, with all the same old excuses being run out...same old same old...
I expected us to drop one or two places down the ladder this year, given the loss of kell, dunks, schwatta et al, and the apparent disinterest in the powers that be to cover the glaring hole at full back and in the ruck. What I also expected was that if we were to lose, we'd lose going down fighting, putting up a performance the players at least could be proud of in defeat...these three games should only serve as an embarassment to (most) of our squad.
"Davis...Davis has kicked 2...he snaps from 40...dont tell me, dont tell me, hes kicked a goal....unbelievable stuff from Nick Davis, can you believe this, he's kicked 3 final quarter goals and Swans are within 3 points..."

Well we did not disgrace ourselves in the last qtrs against the crows and the dockers, in both qtrs we were only a couple of goals down and could have quite easily pinched both of them.

No way in the dockers game were we ever going to win. Honestly they were home and hosed mid way through the third.
Lets not gloss over our shocking performances. Last year there were some games we could have pinched....but this year the Dockers game wasnt one of them. The Crows only let us back in then firmly shut the gate in our face.
WE ARE PLAYING PATHETIC FOOTY. The sooner we realise this, the sooner we can start to rebuild

Well S_S and WA if you recall correctly we were 18 points down half way through the last qtr v the dockers and kennelly had a shot for goal to put us 12 points down and he hit the post - we had all the momentum and if he kicked that well who knows.

Same story v crows a couple of goals down and we missed some crucial shots to basically level the scores and we had all the momentum again.

I agree we are playing shocking footy, but my point was we were in with a chance to beat the dockers and crows in the last qtr, which was my comment in regards to S_S point that said if we were to lose, we'd lose going down fighting which I believe we did too SOME extent.

I think we are being fooled to some extent by our "comebacks" in some of those games. We have a short period of time when we outscore the opposition and manage to drag back a deficit from 5 goals to 2-3. However, we cannot sustain it and then the opposition manages to comfortably hold out. I don't think these short periods of "fightback" are necessarily that meaningful.

That probably dont seem to be that meaningful in the sense of the word to you right now and I agree, but in the context of a season, they can be very meaningful
                  RE - %
In both these games a 70+ defeat was a real reality, yet to keep it to around 25 points, means a lot to our %.
And it probably wont happen this year, but if we were in the mix, it may, and has been shown in the past been the difference in 8th or 9th position or a home final or playing away.
