Don't know to be honest, but have a sneeking suspicion that you do

Kelly became Captain in 1993, he was young and not really expecting to be named. I just believe that Mick is not the best choice and is injury prone. I'm not saying get rid of him, but I think there is a world of difference between Kelly 1993 and MOL 2005. That's all.

The reason barry hall is captaincy material is the leadership qualities and responsibility he has shown since joining the swans ( other than one incident way back in 2002 against Port). He's a great player and well respected by his peers so he can lead by example. the allegations towards MOL were a lot more damaging because they were over a very serious claim. As it stands they're only allegations so possibly its not fair on Mick but i think you'd need a captain who you'd have confidence in playing each game and someone who was heavily involved in training throughout the week. Kelly may have been injured a lot in 1998, but he wasn't chosen in 1998. whether our captain be Hall, Kirky, Jude, Goodesy, Leo or Matthews, there is an equally good chance that they may become extremely injury prone 5 years after taking up the job.

A few years back, I think he would have been an excellent choice. But I think he's too injury-prone nowadays. He would be capable of doing it if he could stay on the park regularly, but that is not going to happen.

Don't shoot the messenger; I'm just telling it how it is.

Spot on, pick a younger player, someone to stand up and flourish with the responsibility of being Captain. I would personally love Will to be Captain, he is without a doubt my favourite Swan and I cannot wait for his midfield drive and attack to return. However, he is not the best long term option and that is what we must look at. We need a stayer as our next Captain.

True but then again, since Baz has been a Swan he has tidied up his act and is now a much better player than when he was playing from aggression alone (Saints). He has won games for us controling and directing aggression purely at the football and it has contributed to the team. You always want a certain amount of mongrel at the front, of dominance, Baz gives this to us. But as a team man.

If they chose Baz I would love it, but I think we have had players within the club for longer, that deserve it just as much.

He played with kicket, roos, kelly, lockett, bayes and others. what do u think....
I think he's great. But he doesn't want it.

I remember reading an article a few years ago (when maxfield was named) that talked about how being named captain then could have revitalised his career, and that the swans made a mistake.
