Ball, willo in - moore, dempster out

interview with roos in the telegraph today (may have been herald - sorry cant remember now); sorry no link,
but basically Roos said that, like last week, the team will be picked based on the opposition, and that Ball and willo were likely to return. Moore and Dempster the likely outs, and schauble to be left out again due to the likelyhood of a small st kilda forward line.

    Ball back on the ball
"I'm looking after Andrew Ericksen, who's a 204cm ruckman, I do a bit with Darren Jolly, and I do a bit with Stephen Doyle," Ball said.

Presumably in Doyle's case, it's providing stock tips and other other financial planning advice

Small? Gehrig small? Riewoldt small? Hamill small (although he may not play)? I dont see small when I look at the St Kilda forward line.

If this is true then I'm starting to wonder whether there's some other reason for Schauble's omissions.

        Not happy.

I can undestand Moore - I think he will benefit from some game time in the reserves. A bit puzzled by Dempster. I think he's being travelling nicely and can play tall or small.
He had observed that people who did lie were, on the whole, more resourceful and ambitious and successful than people who did not lie.

The only possible matchup for Schaubs would be on Gehrig - Riewoldt is way too quick and mobile for Schaubs to play on. I think he could match-up well on Gehrig though and would be disappointed to see him left out when the teams are announced.

If Saints are going to be small, why is LRT in? I'd rather Dempster who has been fantastic. Bring in Schneider; Drop Bevan.

Moore was vunerable just on lack of game time, and Dempster hasnt done enough with the opportunities avaliable.
Ball and Willo have forced there way in, so its a little unfortunate that those two young guys get the chop, but we are here to put our best 22 on the field.

I can understand the too-tall argument as we are pretty much playing 3 ruckmen with ball in. Ball or Goodes can be shifted down back if needed.
It opens the door for St Kilda to pull a swifty and include a half fit hammil to try and stretch us at the last minute.

I like the look of the side with Schuable in. I'm a little suprise he's out (hopefully not for political reasons), but I guess Roos now rates LRT the better tall defender. I hope we are nursing Schuable through to the finals.

As for Schneider. Needs to keep it up and bide his time in the reserves. You dont go making 3 changes to a winning side.

Moore was not vulnerable, he was lucky the opportunity came along so early in the season for hi to get a game. He was never going to be a regular ahead of the others, this season.

And dempster is probably in the same boat. They have both been given the opportunity, and now with regulars coming back, they need to make way. Vogels 3 goals (and assists) probably saved him from the chop.

We don't need a tall player on Hamill - just a strong and reasonably quick one.

Hammill is out, according to the news I saw earlier today.

Not playing Schaubles because of a small forward line could have been the smokescreen. It is probably more that Schauble is too slow to match on any of their forwards.

The breaks that William, Ball and Schaubles are having right now might turn out in our favour come the finals. Younger bodies do not last through the season well. That might give us the edge over Geelong, Melbourne, West Coast and the Saints if we meet them in the final.

Another point is that should we rest Goodes for this game? Ackland is a pretty mobile for a ruckman so I dont think Goodes would be a tremendous value against him. With Ball coming back, we do have the luxury of giving Goodes a week off or so. Playing in his position is very demanding.

Barry Hall should have a rest too. we've got plenty of cover up forward. Vogels and Mick can both cover for him, and out-scored him last week. A run in the twos might help his kicking accuracy.
