Williams back for devil of a job

Williams back for devil of a job
If it's not broken, don't fix it - or so the saying goes. Yet after three successive wins, the Swans are hardly broken, but that hasn't stopped coach Paul Roos from tinkering with his team for tomorrow's clash with St Kilda in Melbourne.
As if you are going to leave a fit Williams or Ball out of a team, no matter how well the team is performing.

"Moore, Dempster and Saddington have all been in pretty good form and it's hard to even drop the young kids. As hard as it is to drop Saddo, the other guys are stiff as well."

its great to have selection dilemmas like this
surely this means fringe players have to lift a cog to keep their spots especially with the form of the guys in the ressies.

lets just hope that dempster, moore and saddo dominate in the 2's and put their names up for next week

just another thing - has spriggs been playing ressies the past few weeks? just havent heard his name mentioned in the past week or 2

Moore (especially) and Dempster are first yr players whose place in the team was only made available thru injury to others, so them being dropped was only a maater of when, not if.

Spriggs has been playing in the 2's kicked a goal last week. Don't know if he has been starring tho'.

He needs to lift his game big time if he is going to be a regular senior player, me thinks. While lots of people wrote him off, b4 the start of the season I was willing to give him a go , as I hadn' seen him play. However, I still don't think I've seen him play in the few games he has had so far.

Agree with the comment on Moore, but Dempster was on the fringe of selection for much of last year and even though it took him till Rd 3 to make the 22, I don't think his opportunity came due to injuries.

The only change between Rd 1 and 2 to the team was Doyle out and Ablett in, while the following week it was McVeigh and Schneider out for Spriggs and Dempster.

If you look at Bevan last year, he got his initial opportunity thanks to injury, but he hasn't gone back to the 2s since, and match fitness is not a reason they could give for Dempster needing a run in the 2s because he's been getting a fair bit of time on ground.

        I'm on the Chandwagon!!!

If you cannot compete for the premiership, it's better to be young and exciting than middle-aged and dowdy.

Unfortunately not, Schneider's been shading hem (i guess that ecplains his inclusion) interestingly I noticed that Spriggs "floats" his kicks even in the reserves.

I think Dempster's been hard done by. In the last few weeks, he has played solidly, though not 'flashy' football, and consequently does not get noticed.

Anyhoo. I hope he fights back from the ressies and gives the selection committee something to talk about next week. Dig deep, son!

Is this where we insert the next anti-LRT thread?

OH! The shock! The horror at such a suggestion!

I am mortally offended [well, not mortally, because I have a plane to catch to tomorrow morning !] at that suggestion!

Dempster CAN play footy. LRT cannot. That is the only link you can make between them.

Does LRT have the pout??? I know he does not!

LRT and Dempster are different players and I'd like to see both of them on the paddock. LRT seems to be lifting, Dempster knows already. I just wish Schauble was there to organize them.
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)
