Charlie I wouldn't bother. Regardless of what anyone says, Mark at the end of the day has some problem with me and decides to take his anger out in that manner. Nevermind if what I say is true or not. He just wants to attack me because I'm me and I dare to have an opinion that is different to his own.

BTW, do you want to borrow my copy of the book, I think you'll find it interesting to read.

Nor does it make you perfectly placed to say otherwise. At the end of the day I've read Moneyball and I've come to my own conclusions about that book and its use in AFL terms. Whether my conclusions are the same as Roos well we'll never know unless the man himself says so. I'm not in anyway claiming I "know" what Roos got out of the book, but I'm putting across my opinion which is better placed than yourself. The more I see from the Swans the more what I'm thinking seems to be ringing true.

But reading the book has at least given me the right to pass comment on its use in AFL terms unlike yourself seeing as you haven't even read the book and therefore have no idea what is even written in between the start if the book and the end of the book.

So for you to claim that I have no idea about Moneyball's use in AFL terms without having even reading the book proves that you are nothing but a bitter person who is just looking to attack me because I dare to have an opinion that you disagree with. So until you have read Moneyball you have no credability on this issue as far as I'm concerned.

Now I know you think I have no idea about this matter but what I've just posted above for your benefit, shows that Moneyball has been used by clubs and in particular has been used by Roos in terms of looking "outside the square" in terms of drafting, hence as I said in the first place the recuitment of Vogels.

What I would like to see is Roos sack a name player instead of turning the fringe players through the revolving door week after week.

Follow Malthouse's example of dropping Woewodin, follow Connolly's example of dropping Headland, follow Matthews' example of dropping Pike.

Show the other underperforming players who feel they are "secure" in the 22 each week that this is not the case, that if they don't perform to a reasonable standard, they are not above taking a trip down to Canberra.

I'm sure everyone would love to see that happen. However the club just doesn't do that. Still if we did start to do that the problem would be "who" do we drop, we have so many options to pick from.

That's half the problem - we don't make the hard decisions. We want to play happy families instead of being hard-nosed and not accepting mediocrity.

I would start with players whose efforts are sub-par before worrying about players whose skills are sub-par but are at least putting the effort in. That would at least send a message that if you aren't coming off the field spent, you aren't working hard enough. So, if I were picking a team, someone like O'Keefe would have reason to be worried come Thursday evening.

I think ROK and/or Mathews are the players that fit this category. Unfortunately, Mathews is a captain, will they drop him?
