To think Roos had so much to offer when he announced his 5 year plan.
Leaving aside my wish to focus on the Swans problems now rather than discuss recruiting I wonder who it is that's pushing this policy. Is is Roos originated or is he dancing to someone elses music. I'd hate to think we have ccountants tellling the football department what to do.

Of course he has accountants telling him what to do. Its endemic of the swans for probably most of their life. Even more so in Sydney. Its been heightened this year with the AFL accountants joining in because of TV rights.

Madness. Roos needs to stand up to these goons. Its time for leadership Paul. Call their bluff while you still have your coaching record in high regard (and can therefore get another gig somewhere else).

"Unless we get 22 blokes working really hard then we will probably lose," Roos said.

Is anyone happy with this negative approach from the coach?? It's a disgrace that he constantly comes out with this stuff.
"As a player he simply should not have been able to do the things he did. Leo was a 185cm, 88kg full-back and played on some of the biggest, fastest and best full-forwards of all time, and constantly beat them." Roos.
Leo Barry? you star! We'll miss ya, ''Leapin''.

Not good to have that coming out, but in reality its probably true. We don't have anyone who call really rip a game open singlehandedly (because IMHO that can only be done by midfielders - Hall is reliant on delivery to do it) so we do rely on everyone playing on top of their game. But alot of other teams are probably in the same boat - things are a lot more even now, and effort can be the difference between winning and losing - take a look at Freo the past 2 weeks.

          I'm on the Chandwagon!!!

If you cannot compete for the premiership, it's better to be young and exciting than middle-aged and dowdy.

And John Worsfold discovered it also applies to the Eagles who got done by the Maggots. Irrespective of who has whom on their list it is no more applicable to us than them!

Having also been regularly quoted that Sydney is a great town for AFL as players can get away from it all and not have pressure after a loss makes me sick. As does his constant excuse about not having the talent.

Mr Roos, either make drastic changes (e.g. get the ball in long and quick to our TALENTED forwards) or p*ss off, as we will never rise above mediocrity with your current ideology.
Was on radio this weekend that during trade week players were praying they would not get drafted by Sydney because of the game plan.

Today and Yesterday on Melbourne radio we copped a fair caning for our game plan. If it means anything to the heirachy we are seen as the poor relation of the AFL to all and sundry. The ugly duckling is being bandied about.

They really are pointing the finger at Roos and not mincing their words.

Its not his line. Every coach uses it because its true:

http://afl.com.au/default.asp?pg=new...ticleid=206003 (Points 3 "Effort now the key")

Each article says the same thing. If you dont turn up, regardless of the quality of your list, you will lose.

I'd love to see the performance of the coach who turns to his team and says: "Just leave the game to Judd, Cousins, Cox and Gardiner. The rest of you can just run diversion. We'll win anyway" Thats assuming you even have four or five players of that quality, and we probably dont.

What an amazing thread to pull out. And kudos for your own observation on your call.

Mind you, their'd be a few posters who will be a little bemused by their own comments.

Well here's to a Premiership!! Looks like we all deserve it!

                          Stop being so dam righteous

So are we not allowed to comment during the season while the team was playing poorly.

Heysus..bringing these threads only serve a purpose for posters like yourself and Barry to gloat in our faces how right you were. Big ********en deal..if both of you are experts then why are you wasting time on here and not applying for some assistant roles.

I find that more irritating than someone questioning the team in a period which they were useless.

You and Barry have to get over this "I told you all so" attitude regarding the team and LRT.

Not in this post but in others he subtly drops it in there.

Why bring up this thread? Does it serve any positive purpose apart from maybe humilate those posters, like myself, who thought Roos was not doing well at the time?
