The thread was dragged up by the original poster (mja) which was the point. They were admitting a mistake.

The is a running RWO joke.

IMO it is interesting to review these things as it's often good to see how quickly things change in footy.

As for this one I stand by my comments and feel that our lack of goals (and entries into the 50) throughout the year (and 2004) has been very costly. Especially with the forward line potential that we have ? goal scoring should be a strength.

I don't think it's good enough to aim to just kick more goals than the other team. This usually leaves you with 8-14 goals for the match and very susceptible to losing games that you are clearly the better team in through one bad patch/quarter or even something out of our control like... a couple of dodgy umpiring decisions.
"As a player he simply should not have been able to do the things he did. Leo was a 185cm, 88kg full-back and played on some of the biggest, fastest and best full-forwards of all time, and constantly beat them." Roos.
Leo Barry? you star! We'll miss ya, ''Leapin''.

Why bring up this thread? Does it serve any positive purpose apart from maybe humilate those posters, like myself, who thought Roos was not doing well at the time?

I empathise with you Diego. And seriously, I dont mean to "gloat" over anything. Lets not forget we are all actually on the same team here. I gain nothing more when we win than you do... the fact that we beat another team.

Nevertheless, threads like this remind me that my positive outlook in life is worthwhile. And when I get flamed for being "blindly optimistic", its not because I am in the wrong, but simply because others have a different opinion. Those that wanted to get rid of Roos were not wrong, they just didn't agree with me.

I was wrong ... maybe so was Mr P Roos (and the AFL head and M Bright etc etc etc) - we all need to learn from our mistakes -

who was it that said .. "There are no mistakes, save one: the failure to learn from them"

Go Swans ..I am sorry - I still luv yas all
Ducks one week, Swans the next... just don't be a Goose till October!
