Why would he retire he has a five year deal he would be crazy to walk away he gets paid to recover from the injurys I think jude is just putting a nice spin on it.
Ill be a happy chappy if Warfe retires at years end
Dont rule out a mid season retirement like Wayne Schwass, im hoping for that
- Impossible is just a big word thrown around by small men who find it easier to live in a world they've been given, than to explore the power they have to change it. Impossible is not a fact, it's an opinion. Impossible is not a declaration, it's a dare. Impossible is potential. Impossible is temporary. Impossible is nothing!
It is not Warfes' bravery that is the issue. It is a sad indictment that he has played 100 games of AFL senior level and still can't hit a target by hand or foot with any regularity. Particularly so when the the stakes are high and the heat is on. He still can't maintain concentration and mark his opponent for 100 minutes. He has been well paid for the games he has played and those he hasn't played. He does however have the guts to crash into a pack from time to time. No argument there. Unfortunately it takes more than that to be a good player.
Does anyone really believe he (or our team) will get better if he plays another 100 games?
He is a barometer of our team. If he can get a game then we have no depth of talent. Sad but true. What is also sad is that there are more players now that are not much better than him than there were a couple of years ago. He hasn't lifted. The team has lowered. He still remains my benchmark of mediocrity.
Everyone has their right to an opinion on this site regarding all players. Weather you like what is said or not don't attack other people's views of players. If you don't like what is said report the post to the mods and they will look after it.
I've been choosing not to respond to this thread-until now. IF Warfe improved the attributes that he's been regularly flogged at this board for, he'd be a very handy player to have in the team. I can still recall him being (and not all THAT long ago) the most respected player who never got to play (mostly due to his injuries). He needs a couple of weeks in the nation's capital though-just to see if he can wake up. If not...CYA knackers.
Warfe was one of my favourite half backmen. He could jump and spoil and was a real tough nut. He has had a shocking run with unjuries and is a long way from his best at the moment. Whether he can make a return to form remains to be seen.
i know of a lot of people that think that Rowan still is a good player that just needs to get his confidence back. Any player coming back from the sort of injuried rowans has had to, needs time, Suppport from the club and the supporters and to be given the chances to get that confidence and skills back to where they were before the injuries.
Before all the injuries, Rowan was one of our best defensive backs along with Brad Seymour and Dunks. Exactly, Dunks wasn't the best kicker in the world yet nobody bagged him, so leave Rowan alone!!!!!

the difference was that dunks realised he couldnt kick so he rarely kicked it, and if he did it would go about 55m so it would clear it out of the congestion
warfe bangs it on the boot when under pressure and usually mis-hits it and turns it over, if warfe would improve on his handball and used that effectively he would be much more handy
