    Article - Fosdike returns... (maybe?)

    Fosdike speaks of Frustration

Sydney midfielder Nic Fosdike certainly knows how frustrating it is to sit in the grandstand, given his recent unlucky string of injuries.
haha! doesnt he realise you dont have to be injured to be watching from the grandstand..?

"Hopefully in two or three weeks, once my body gets right. I just want to do it right this time and make sure I'm fully ready to go, and hopefully in two or three weeks I'll be back in the team and looking for a good solid second-half of the season."
not sure where he would fit into the team in 3 or so weeks, Willo will be back, seems like we'll have too many small mid-field players running about, unless Fossy has been on the Nick Davis diet of KFC and protein shakes for every meal.

While I knew that Fosdike was put forward as a possible trade to the Crows, I didn't know until now that it was actually at his request.

The talks eventually fell through, and speaking candidly about how he almost became a Crow at the start of the year, Fosdike said there is no existing 'bad blood' amongst the Sydney players regarding how he asked to be traded to the rival team.

    I'm on the Chandwagon!!!

If you cannot compete for the premiership, it's better to be young and exciting than middle-aged and dowdy.

Yeh, I was wondering that, too.

Does that mean that the Crows didn't want him either???

More a case of them not wanting to pay the salary he is on at Sydney.

Diego, you forget to realise that people here have very short memories . Saddo's return was also seen as the 2nd coming a few weeks ago.

But in all honesty, if he gets fit and plays well in the reserves, he'd have to be a chance for a run in favour of someone like Buchanan or Schneider or Bevan if they are still in the seniors by the time he's ready to go.

Or we wanted too much for him in exchange or both. Wouldn't it be amazing to be fly on the wall?

I'm no fan but I think they have to play him 4 the rest of the year to find out if he can play, or to improve his worth from a trade perspective or to realise that he needs to be moved on, trade or no-trade

Not sure. I'd read in Inside Football that it was for one (only) draft pick. And you're right-being a fly would be completely awesome (unless there are cans of insect spray around).

We wanted Adelaides 2nd round pick (about 22nd) over all, as Melbourne wanted that pick in exchange for Jolly.

Unfortunetly it didnt come off. Maybe Adelaide playing hardball knowing he was "homesick", but a really pity as we would have got Jolly plus kept our 1st pick.

The last thing we need is another midfielder with ordinary disposal.

should have bubble wrapped him and sent him to mulletsville for free

nah he might be a handy addition but he could just be his normal self if he returns, and thats not what we want

Problem Mr. Giant is that if he plays well, we'll want to keep him and if he plays badly, then no one else will want him. Better that he doesn't play at all and we can market him as a player who once played well and who might be a handy pick-up when he returns from injury.

Maybe we should play all the second stringers in the reserves and the other teams might think kicking 58 goals in one game against West Rupinyup prickle farmers means potential.
