Roos - after current contract, the end???

Still coaching in 10 years, or doing other things outside of the football world?

I don't see myself as a career coach, to be honest. I see myself as someone who is enjoying it at the moment, loves a challenge, loves being involved with the Swans and cannot see myself coaching any other club. I'd like to move on at some point, but when it happens I will be comfortable to move on to other things. I'm looking forward to fulfilling my current contract, but after that who knows? I certainly can't see myself coaching in 10 years' time.

Makes you wonder whether he might lack the hunger/killer instinct whatever you might want to call it. Certainly seems to think he might not be around for a long time. Of course that decision may well be taken out of his hands.

One thing for certain though: any decision won't be in the hands of someone like you. Get a life and have a think about what you are saying.

I hate to stamp on your prejudices with facts, but lets try some factual arguments.

If Roos were to be coaching in 10 years time, he would be at about 300 games as a coach. AFAIK, there are only 17 coaches in the history of AFL who have coached that many (dont think Pagan has done it yet).

Also, remember Eade holds the Swans record at 152, so Roos would then be about double the record.

So how do you reconcile Roos realistic expectations with your opinion that he lacks hunger/killer instinct.

As I was told many years ago, everyone at a footy club gets sacked eventually (or they get out themselves before they do).

I like a coach who is at least realistic.

I think its good that he'd only coach the swans. shows where his loyalty lies, and loyalty to a club means you want to see it succeed, so i would suggest that he does have the hunger for the swans and himself to be successful...
but thats just my opinion.
