Sometimes it's not how strong you are or how fast you can run, it's where you place yourself relative to the ball and your opponent. Roos would know a lot about that.
He had observed that people who did lie were, on the whole, more resourceful and ambitious and successful than people who did not lie.

I watched LRT closely last weekend, and again this weekend, and he's just so slight when it comes to upper body strength. Riewolting is roughly the same height, though far more defined, and used his strength to his advantage over The Hyphen. Same happened tonight with Whitnall. But I am getting off the subject -- perhaps it's time for another LRT thread?

Was glad when they put B2 on Whitnall. I was hoping Roosy would have ordered that sooner, though a golf clap to LRT for trying.

I have not seen today's game, but from watching LRT in earlier games, he seems quite adept at being all arms. As long as he can punch he'll be okay. Problem with Whitnall is that he is so fat that LRT probably couldn't stretch around him.

The 3AW team were referring to him as Uncle Arthur

            Hahaha

LRT has a 'thing' of flailing his arms about -- it's much like Tim Rogers' guitar windmill [and yes, I know that Timmy stole that from the dude in The Who]. But having not watched much of Carlton, I was surprised when I saw Whitnall. He does not fit into your stereotypical AFL player category, does he?

Couldn't stretch around him.... [insert snigger here]

LRT looks big, but seems to be weak.

Probably a bit unfair, he didn't exactly look like a bumbling fool out there.
Does anyone have Lance's stats up to when Schaubs was taken off him? Marks I50 in particular? The midfield was giving him perfect delivery, Schaubs did take a few marks himself and add a few spoils. They looked to be trying to go through him Lance every time (I guess he is the CHF! )
Did Schaubs sit out the entire last quarter? I didn't see him get back on at all.
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

I actually didn't think Schauble was as bad as everyone was making out, although I note that both the 3AW and Ch 10 guys were highlighting it as the weakness in the Swans backline.

A number of his marks came from good delivery from players who were open and running forward. Always tough to stop, although Schauble did seem too far behind.

As noted quite a few times various commentaries, Whitnall might be slow but he's also a very smart footballer and knows how to position himself very well.

I wouldn't write off Schauble just yet. If nothing else he gives our backline better structure. We'll see if he's too slow in coming weeks.
Captain Logic is not steering this tugboat.

"[T]here are things that matter more and he's reading and thinking about them: heaven, reincarnation. Life and death are the only things that are truly a matter of life and death. Not football."

I thought he had a shocker and so did the coach. And I was one calling for his immediate return.

Didn't get much time after he was dragged, if any.

If he was out of favour before today he didn't do himself any favours today.

Suspect he might be an emergency next week.

Indeed. I nearly died when my mum said "Number 25 for Carlton is hot!"

Clearly your mum is not too choosey.
