    Sheehan's View

    Here is an article in the Herald Sun today on "Swans Labouring On".

    A couple of interesting points...
    "It seems Roosy doesn't trust his team to win a test of skills, to back his players in one-on-one contests. The implication is the Swans must have more players at every contest, must run harder for longer, must win by attrition rather than accomplishment."

    * An issue of trust?

    and...

    "The Swans of the 1980s used to be everyone's second favourite team; now even their own supporters have turned on them.

    * Probably matches Tuesday's experience in Melbourne last weekend!

    Cheers,
    Matt

    I agree with the sentiment that the forwards aren't trusted in a one on one contest.
    This isn't necessarily the fault of the coach.
    To a degree I blame the midfield and half backs.
    But in their defence the pressure by the forwards - particularly Barry Hall - to keep the ball contained up forward has been abysmal.
    It would be disheartening for the midfielders and half backs to see the ball merely flying back over the heads having just delivered it forward.
