Nick M looked good, as did Nick D. Hall's 2 goals were super - backing himself to play on quickly from 50 to an open goal square, and taking it out of the ruck a la 2003. Overall, best qtr of footy from the Swans for a long time.

He may not be able to catch the bloody thing for some reason, but LRT has outpositioned his opponent almost half a dozen times during that quarter.
As for Buchanan, he has to get off the ground. For his first touch, he had ages to kick it, and then decided to handball to a player under pressure.
Good to see that we're kicking long a lot. Good signs, but there is absolutely no pressure coming from CarltonVisit my eBay store -

Gerard Healy: "Watching live I understand Walls' frustrations with the way the Swans play. They may be dominating the possessions but they don't look totally in control. If Carlton actually played well and got their act together they could overrun Sydney."
"It's interesting watching players who aren't good decision makers going back and making decisions all the time."
Garry Lyon: "There is a fragility about the way the Swans play. Carlton is not as good as Sydney, but Pagan will say hang in there and you never know what will happen."Captain Logic is not steering this tugboat.

Thanks for that - if he keeps this up in the 2nd half he'll surpass that.
It's a so-so match at the moment - we came out of the blocks so quickly but you knew they'd draw us back in - let's hope we play like we did in the first quarter in the 2nd halfComment

Garry Lyon: "Swans have no structure or continuity with their forward structure. Forward line continually changes so that the midfielders never know where the players are, who will be in the forward line and who to kick to.
The game is an unmitigated disaster and a disgrace."
Gerard Healy: "Swans have totally dominated the game and should be 12 goals in front, but it is chaos. Pagan would be pleased where Carlton are; not far out of the game while the Swans have played their butts off for just a 19 point lead."
Garry Lyon: "Roos is either being obstinate, ignorant or cannot coach. I'm sure it's not the last one, but what is it. Needs to do something."Captain Logic is not steering this tugboat.

It is not a great game but it is much better to watch. Malceski wants to be involved and has made some nice passes. Hall looks a lot more interested this week. Lets just hope that if the can get a decent lead they keep playing footy and not shut it down. Jude Bolton is going like a train. (Picked him up for my DT this week too)

commentators always think our games are ordinary. switch the tv off and listent to MMM, they actually have constructive things to say.
Agree the LRT is doing, his disposal has been very good, spoiling good, positioning and muscling up his opponent is good - just the marking.. myabe he should wear gloves.
I LOVE the look of Nick M. defintely great signs.
Can anyone explain why McVeigh seems to be finding himsellf at full foward? he seems to be down there a bit.. seems a bit pointless when hes such a small bodied playerI'm Flyin' High...Comment

Amazing how the commentary can influence your opinion on the game. I'm actually quite enjoying it. The reason the swans aren't further ahead is because the Blues flooded our F50 so heavily in that 2nd quarter.Visit my eBay store -

Gary Lyon going ape**** on 3AW about the quality of this game and swans style of play - haven't seen it so can't comment. Seems like a bandwagon has formed and everyone is on Roos' case.
One comment by Lyon was interesting though - Swan rotate players through position too much which means players don't know who or where to kick too. Not sure about that, but I think we'd be better to get 4 quality midfielders and just leave them on the ground. I think history will show that the midfield rotation is a fad that failed to create any competitive advantage. He had observed that people who did lie were, on the whole, more resourceful and ambitious and successful than people who did not lie.Comment
