    Swans back in business

    Swans back in business
The Sydney Swans have maintained their ascendancy over Carlton, seeing off a second-half revival by the Blues to win a dour match by 25 points at Telstra Dome.
After an unattractive first half when the Swans dominated possession, they never enjoyed a large lead due to their over-use of the ball.
What game was this guy watching?? Last weeks???

    What a dud!!!

For what its worth, I really enjoyed todays game. More so than any other Swans game this year.

Yeah, that was a bit strange. But nothing will ever satisfy the Melbournians...
The first half was a one million percent improvement on last weeks effort. I thought all but about fifteen minutes of it was solid. It was exciting footy, and I loved it when we were completely dominating. I like close games too, but I am forever attempting to stem the nausea, so I prefer it when we dominate.

Anyhoo, I would like this reproduced somewhere for posterity:

The Sydney Swans dominated lowly Carlton with an 18.8 (116) to 14.7 (91) victory in their AFL match at the Telstra Dome tonight.

It's the start of my nightlead.

Nice to be back in the winners circle. The fact that it was at the expense of Carlton isn't really lending itself to bragging rights just as yet. Good to get 4 pts though.

Sounds like the guy didn't actually watch the game - just looked at the stats and guessed.

The first quarter was quite open and free. The second and third quarters were also in parts and in other parts both teams flooded a reasonable amount. In the second qtr the Swans messed around with the ball while they coughed it up under pressure in the third quarter. The final quarter was again quite open and free.

Pfft, it was like our best half.

It definitely wasn't a dour game - especially in comparison to other games we've played this year. I thought we actually started to overuse the ball in the first quarter, just after we got that 4 goal lead. All of a sudden we stopped played direct footy and went back to handball after handball. Funnily enough, direct footy worked a treat in the last quarter too!

                      I'm on the Chandwagon!!!

If you cannot compete for the premiership, it's better to be young and exciting than middle-aged and dowdy.

                        Roos Strikes back!

Roos lashes out at AFL website
Roos was perplexed at how afl.com would call the Swans' 25-point win against Carlton at Telstra Dome on Saturday afternoon "a dour match".
