    We broke a record today

Today's game was the seventh consecutive win against Carlton, in a sequence that stretches back to 2001. This breaks the previous record of six consecutive wins over Carlton that was set between 1917 and 1919.

    Love it! I hate Carlton.

      You'll love this then:
      * Since 1993, Carlton have only beaten us 4 times in 16 games. All four occasions have been at Princes Park.
      * The current streak includes our biggest ever wins over Carlton. There is a 74-point win in round 1 2003 (146-72), and a 78-point win in round 2 2002 (111-33).
      * Carlton supporters have trouble remembering the last time they beat the Swans. Wins in Sydney are particularly difficult for them to remember. At least the ones on the train near me on the way to the game had trouble remembering!

        My smile gets wider

I was a Richmond supporter a long long time ago (b4 I moved to Sydney), hence my animosity towards Carlton.

          That's all?????

I hate them because they tried to kill the Swans off in 1992 by asking the AFL if they could take over from the Swans in Sydney by playing all their away games in Sydney and in the process kill us off.

Thats why I hate the scum more than I hate any other club. No one tries to kill my club and gets away with it

I don't remember that but it sounds like an even better reason to hate them. May they never defeat us again!

The Swans don't just have a stranglehold over Carlton in recent years - Denis Pagan's losing streak against the Swans would have to go back a few years too, when you consider all those floggings of the Roos at the SCG a few years back

The Swans certainly know how to get revenge -
against their 1996 GF nemesis and the club that tried to kill us off in 1992!

Even more fitting that we won the last three games we ever played against them at Optus Oval (2002-2004).

I also have another reason [though I am not sure if it is a negative reason or not]....I have already posted something about this in another thread, but their club song sounds like one, long stripping song! We call it the Carlton Tease

There is also the small matter of the "Bloodbath"

Also another reason to hate North - they were the only club to vote in support of Carlton's move to play their away games in Sydney and get rid of us.

I remember going to Princes Park and never seeing a win - I think it was 1965 til 1990 - Shane Fell got us home!!

                      ...and Barry Mitchell.

My dad hates Carlton more than any other side because of the '45 bloodbath grand final (he was at the game on the fence) and because of '92 when Carlton and Melbourne were the two teams that voted to get rid of us.

Might I add what a stupid concept playing all your away games in Sydney would have been.

When I read the title I thought you meant we broke a record of scoring more goals than points!

On that note it was pleasing to see we kicked decently yesterday.
