Swans go from jeers to cheers

"It is rare for more than 30,000 people to attend a game of football more interested in the means by which the end would be achieved than the result itself. While there was some satisfaction for the ghouls yesterday, they ultimately went home frustrated; other ambulances must be chased before they can declare: "I was there the day the game died."
Captain Logic is not steering this tugboat.

"[T]here are things that matter more and he's reading and thinking about them: heaven, reincarnation. Life and death are the only things that are truly a matter of life and death. Not football."

That's one of the better match reports I've read for a while (other than the ones on here, of course!)

Sound like the writer actually watched the game.

Yeah, I thought it was a choice match report too. I like the general comments on the nature of the game -- I sensed he was assessing the bigger picture when writing that. A bit of perspective with some mythology thrown in for good measure... footy needs more intelligent writers like him. Nice work, Hanlon!
And you can't find nothing at all,
If there was nothing there all along.

I read that article this morning and mentioned the opening sentence to my cousin (a Carlton supporter). It was a good article...

          I'm on the Chandwagon!!!

If you cannot compete for the premiership, it's better to be young and exciting than middle-aged and dowdy.
