    Banner v Carlton

Did anyone see the banner Denise had her gang hold up yesterday? rom what I saw it. it did look a ripper. Was nice and witty, with a bit of a backhander at Robert Walls at the same time.

The thing I have to ask is, how did you get away with being allowed to have a message like that on the banner? I thought it was great. I just thought it would have been censored for risk of being controversial.

We DO need more wit on the banners. As much as we have to respect the amount of money our club's corporate partners give us, turning banners into big advertising billboards is totally against what banners are supposed to be there for in the first place.

Only saw the back at the ground, but saw the front on Before the Game and they all seemed to think it clever. When they crossed for a chat with Quartermain in Adelaide, he said Walls had now heard he'd made the banner and was keen to see exactly what it said.

    I'm on the Chandwagon!!!

If you cannot compete for the premiership, it's better to be young and exciting than middle-aged and dowdy.

I think it would be good to SEE the banner - could the banner people perhaps rotate it before they hold it up? All I could see was the back, which given the angle would be true for most of the crowd.
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

Crepe issues, combined with less than gentle poleing, make this a very difficult task !

        Think before you post !

The problem we have in Sydney is that we are given no time to get out to get the thing up. We had TWO bloody minutes against the Dogs. we struggled to actually get out there, get the ropes on, and get the thing up in that time at all.

Against St Kilda the Cheer Squad for some reason all went outside the actual ground entrance then back in and down these stairs into the carpark to go out on the ground. I thought it was mega strange to be honest.

I imagine the club would have been more than happy with the jibe against Walls.

Yeah, against St Kilda half the Cheersquad got lost. Didn't see where everyone else went and couldnt get out onto the ground. So we all had to acctually go out of the ground and get passouts and then back in through the car park!

I asked a question and got an answer I don't understand. What is 'poleing'? And what issues does crepe have? I've never been near a banner in my life and have no idea what you can and can't do with them. Are the crowd meant to be able to read it or is it just for the players and those sitting near the race?

As a regular banner maker in melbourne we find the crepe isnt as strong so on the weekend the roof open the wind would just rip the thing apart so yeh if we could get the thing up and down rotate and do it again we would but the banner just doesnt hold!
We find it giving way when we open it!

I take photos of the banner each week in melb so yeh ill give em to some1 to post up!
