Dockerlanders coming to Sydney on Sunday

Hi gang, Am registered on Freo's supporter website www.dockerland.com. It seems there will be a few people in purple at the SCG on Sunday.

Anyone keen on organising a RWO-DL get-together? I can only go by the fact that whenever Port come, we have a good time with their fans. It would be good to start fostering friendships of supporters with other clubs as well.

Let me know if anyone wants to catch up with some anchor bearers on Sunday. (Eating of Hungry Jacks and the use of yellow clapper sticks will be banned for the day out of respect to our visitors from the west, lol)

    JF

PS:- Dunno why I have a soft spot for the Dockers. I just do. They are just a strange ideosyncratic kind of club wth a long suffering but loyal working class supporter base with a somewhat larrikin streak. Maybe this is it; I do recall that i was always a fan of Grimace when i went to McDonalds as a kid. and I still like Barney the Dinosaur even today.

Did you ever drink 'Glee'? It was a purple, grape flavoured soft drink. Lasted I think for perhaps seventeen minutes in 1979.

Not the ones I have encountered. Feral and vicious. No appreciation of a differing view. Perhaps the cheer squad people are a little more balanced- except I hate their drum!!

The Sydney Aussie Rules Club would do the trick before and after the game. Not sure if you guys have a NSW based Supporters Club or after-match.

You may get the odd strange look if you go into the Swans club in Docker colours. But you will NOT cop the abuse we copped in Perth a few weeks ago.

PM me for more info mate. I of all people know what it is like to be travelling interstate alone.

JF, can you elaborate? As a West Aussie I am not necessarily surprised but on that night we were sporting Swans colours and generally were met with a good attitude. But then again the WCE are travelling well and the WCEr's can afford to be a bit generous.
