Literally, you are indeed correct NMW, it means an employee in German. An arbeiter of cool, in my world, is a person who chooses what is cool and what is not. It has been used by some sections of the media as another way to explain something that already has a word, like fashionista. It does not always have to be about style and associated issues/things, and the 'hot' reference is to Zoolander. There was supposed to be an element of irony there also, though hopefully it may be apparent now that everyone understands what I meant...

PS: not really a style arbeiter. My sister is. I got the red hair (oh, alright then, originally brown!) and brains, she got the blonde and popularity
And you can't find nothing at all,
If there was nothing there all along.

The former has its moments as well there Tuesday.

Maybe I need some sort of band to keep my back hair in check?!

I actually assumed you meant 'arbiter' - as in a judge of what's hot (note though they are pronounced differently).

I got the Zoolander reference - what a great film!

Is the Zoolander you are referring to the racehorse named Zoolander?

No - a movie with Ben Stiller.

My fabulous avatar is of an evil swan. We went on a pilgrimmage to Lake Oval after the heinous St Kilda match, and ate our lunch by Albert Park Lake. It sat in the water, staring at us with its beady, little red eyes the whole time. The walkway around the Lake was elevated, so we could only see the eyes and top of its head... really freaked me out!
