Thought he had very few mistakes today. Took his standard one good solid mark, and almost took the mark of the game in the 2nd term. Another game or two like that and I might need a new avatar.

How did rate Saddo. Kicked a goal, missed 2 sitters. Not one field kick was effective. 2 to opposition the rest to players under the pump leading to the boundary, either too short or over the head.

Malcheski, now someone should have a word in his ear. Handballed sideways to Saddo on his wrong side, probably called for it. And made a lead to a Saddo kick (floater) on the boundary line that stayed in (luck).

Don't pander to some experienced players.

LRT took a couple of nice marks and was okay. Didn't see anything significant either way (although he nearly took out Barry), so as I've said before let's just see what happens.

Saddo was very ordinary. He's very much at the crossroads.

Can I feel a (LRT) shift.....maybe. (I know it wasn't the earth moving). As for Malceski he obviously hasn't been on this board enough to know or not know who to kick/handball to.

i think this thread should be about saddo rather than LRT after todays effort, he is really struggling at the moment and I wouldnt be surprised to see him traded at the end of the year. his decision making process is terrible. i am always one to give players a chance, but i have lost patience

I don't reckon saddo has ever lived up to his potential.

At least with LRT he is just a long shot NSW boy, so anything above average AFL standard will be a bonus.

We've tried Saddington as trade bait before, we wont get rid of him, he's on too much money and I think he's still contracted till 2007

Yeah...Saddo!

He was almost living up to his potential when he played on the back flanks a few years ago. Then he got injured. Then Roos became the Coach. Then Roos somehow fooled everyone (including Saddo) into thinking that Saddo would be the next CHB and Its been ordinairy ever since.

I like Saddo, and I like to think he still has alot to offer. I also think that he's been out of the team long enough to not have a complete grasp of the teams dynamics. They should just keep him on the wings until he gets it back.

LRT has loads of promise. I think he'd be the sort of boy who got regular clips under the ear for being a goof. Its nice to see him playing with more confidence.

To take this thread entirely off topic for a minute - I'd like to discuss LRT for a minute

The one thing that really struck me today about his game was his athleticism

He's powerfully built, very agile, and has a fair gallop

If we can ever teach him to play football we'll have a superstar on our hands

Certainly at the moment he can be a little lacking in natural football instincts, but I think the main reason he is being persisted with by Roos is because if he can improve his judgement, he will be a very handy asset, and by persisting with him in the seniors, Roos is trying to fast-track the learning process

Yes, he still makes mistakes, and yes, they can lead to opposition goals on a number of occasions - but IF (and granted, it may be a big if) he can improve his football smarts - then watch out!

It's certainly obvious why Roos is persisting with him, and his rate of learning in the seniors will be 10 times what it would be in the reserves. Added to that, there isn't anyone else in the reserves at the moment capable of the roles that LRT is currently being given so even if he is beaten by his opponent we're not losing much.

I thought today was the best this season so far. His ball handling was much more secure than last week, that's for sure.
