2 goals from 2 games now, finally showing some fwd promise. But he is in there getting the ball out, allowing the others to get the effective disposal while he just gets it out.

You're joking, right? After today's game?

That's like posting a 'Should Vogels ever be allowed to play in the forward line again?' poll 30 minutes after the Dogs game finished.

hehehehehehhehehehehe... I did see it and think "sheesh, that won't be influenced by emotion at all"...

But, yes he does probably deserve a chance in the midfield. I never understood him being in the side over Schneider as a small forward (to go back to that overused comparison), I particuarly never understood Roos playing both this season and running Buchanan in the forward line and Schneider in the midfield. Silly.
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

He was playing well in the midfield - he and Willo at one point were seeing who could top the disposal count

I said it a week or two ago. His hands are his most valuable asset and he knows how to find the ball in traffic and also get it out from that same traffic. His foot skills generally are the ones that let him down, but he's also shown that he can bob up and kick the odd goal, but that he is not a crumbing type forward.

He is a midfielder and should stay there!

                    I'm on the Chandwagon!!!

If you cannot compete for the premiership, it's better to be young and exciting than middle-aged and dowdy.

When he grabs the ball out of the pack and charges forward, he looks like a champion . . . . but his disposal this season is woeful

He used to be an accurate field kick and a lethal shot at goal . . . what has gone wrong?

It's great to see him kick a goal . . . he is so obviously delighted when it goes through. But today his stuff-ups must have directly led to at least 3 Freo goals, and undid much of the hard work he put in.

Even though his work rate is so high, I still reckon he's skating on thin ice unless he can improve his disposal.

All of this could have been said about Jude Bolton 3-4 years ago. At the moment, the only young midfield type player that has shown more is Ablett.... he should be given the rest of the year in the middle. At the same time, a couple of extra skills sessions during the week wouldn't hurt.

I think he deserves a chance after today's effort. One thing he has going for him is that he is relatively quick. Our midfield certainly needs some additional pace, particularly to compete with the likes of West Coast n Geelong. He showed great promise today - although as Chammond said, I still feel he needs to improve his disposal.

Hasn't he been rotated through the midfield in every game he has played this year?

He should stay in the midfield.
