    Doggies 'home' game

Reports are that the Doggies and Eade are pushing to have their home game at the SCG moved to either the Gold Coast, Launceston or Darwin !

Any comments from the "it will never happen" "the game will return to Melbourne" "why are the swans allowing the game in Sydney" crew ?

The more games in Launceston the better. It is a great day out except when it rains.

At least you are willing to admit your somewhat 'personal' reasons for wanting a game there !

or are you relying on the "grand finals are played on the same species of grass as that at Aurora stadium" line ?

I can't blame Eade for wanting the game moved away from the SCG. It's been a decision based purely on money, but if they can get the same money from the AFL to play it elsewhere, why would you continue to play at the opponents home ground? Surely it would be wise for them to take it to a neutral venue at the very least?

        I'm on the Chandwagon!!!

          Absolutely, spot on.

In fact that is precisely what a few 'sane' people were extolling when we had the whole "bring more games to Melbourne" dummy spit.

Apparently tho "it would never happen" the game would have to return to Melbourne !

How about Eade racks off and doesn't make the decisions anymore?

And the same old hole in your same old reasoning still exists.

Why would the Swans necessarily continue to play an away game against the Bulldogs every year? Even when they do play away games against the Bulldogs, why would we necessarily be the ones shipped off to a different city? You've never even acknowledged this point, let alone tried to argue it. Why? Because it doesn't fit your theory?

Yes i have, and i will again

Because the Doggies 'request it' high in their preferences. In fact, the very same reason their home game has been in sydney for so many years now !

The parts of this thread that involved insults and their aftermath have been moved.

I don't think I need to say anymore, but I will anyway....play the ball not the man...thanks.

My reading of the reports is that the Dogs want to substitute the home game that they currently play at the SCG with one at a different venue.

I haven't read anywhere that they have requested that they play Sydney at this yet-to-be-determined venue. What have I missed?

                          Just Mark jumping to conclusions.

Sure its as good as a certainty that the Bulldogs will no longer play a home game in Sydney after this year, but all the Bulldogs have done so far is state that they will play two of their home games next year interstate, one in Darwin to finish off their 3 year deal with the NT Government to play there and another one in either Tassie or the Gold Coast to replace the home game they play in Sydney against us at the moment.

So far the Bulldogs have NOT named any teams who they would play these two interstate home games against. So saying that the Swans will be one of them is therefore jumping to conclusions until the Bulldogs make that decision public, or if they decide to leave it to the AFL to make the decision (like they do with who the Bulldogs play in Darwin), the AFL makes the 2006 fixture public.

Sure the Swans could end up playing the Bulldogs in Tassie or on the Gold Coast from next year, but by the same token they could also end up playing the Dogs in Melbourne or even shock horror end up playing the Dogs in a fixture that Mark hasn't even taken into account - the Swans playing the Dogs only once next season and that being a Swans home match at the SCG.

I take it Mark, you aren't suggesting the Swans move a home game to Tassie or the Gold Coast are you???

Anything could happen with this fixture and most likely will. Charlie I doubt your long held dream of 7 away matches in Melbourne will come true even if the Bulldogs end up playing us in Melbourne next year.

Wait for the official conformation before debating this issue, because until we know for sure where we are playing the Bulldogs next year we will only be going around and around in
                          circles.
