Remember the final at the SCG against the crows in 98
when Vardy got 6 in the wet?

Eade said that in the wet the side that had the greater skills
    rose above the other team

I tend to agree - we got belted that night - even though Cressa was injured and Kelly had done his knee earlier in the season

What a great moment in all of our lives

I think rain lessens the distinction between averaging skilled players and poorly skilled players but accentuates the advantage that the mostly highly skilled players have.

More than that, though, it advantages sides who are well drilled in playing direct football, even if they do it at the expense of finesse. In the rain a fumble is more likely than in the dry and the more times a team has to touch a ball to move it forward, the more likely they are to make an error. Lots of dinky, in-tight handballs - the way the Swans are prone to play at times - tends to come unstuck.

Early Sat. morning and it looks perfect. They're talking about the rain staying away till tomorrow. Should be a good one.

              Up there it's fine?

Down here it was raining. Very overcast. Is rain likely up there?

If we get any rain, it will be more likely late tonight and into tomorrow so should be ok for most (if not all) the game

Now we only have to worry about the people who will go to the bloody Union tonight as opposed to our game in terms of drawing a big crowd.

As we very well know, there is a huge overlaps betwen the Swans and Waratahs/Wobblies supporter bases. I'd be happy with 24-25000 tonight.

You wonder if the ARU has done this deliberately YET again, putting one of their matches on the night of another big Swans game.

                    U coming Glenn?

We are going to need all hands on deck tonight, I reckon.

The unconfirmed rumour is that for 2006, the ARU has agreed not to host major games in Sydney on the same night as the Swans. Apparently this was agreed to when the AFL agreed to move the Brisbane Telstra Stadium game to the Sunday.

Time will tell if this is true!

Just looked at the Ticketek website and listed...

Berwongle, O'Reilly, Bradman, Churchill and Grog free areas as being "Single Seat only" availability.

With the weather being good perhaps we could sneak up to 30,000?

If there was no union on, we get 30,000 + easily tonight.
                        Swannies for life!
