    On the bright side

    On the bright side

There are still by my reading 4 "great white hopes" players that have shown they have potential to be quality at AFL

    McVeigh - Roberts-Thompson - Powell - Schneider

Hopefully Dempster can be added to that list.

Other than that the cupboard looks pretty bare.

    Any opinions?
You don't ban those who supported your opponent, you make them wallow in their loserdom by covering your victory! You sit them in the front row. You give them a hat! Toby Ziegler

Agree 100%, but lets add in

Sunny (remember his game against Melbourne last year)

Hunt ( looked good in the magoo's last week)

My only fear about Mcveigh is that he is so skinny, but the kid does have real talent

We just have to hope they are given a run sometime soon so we can actually see how they stack up at the top level. It's all well and good to look good in the Magoos, but it is a step up. Hopefully they will be given that chance to step up and take it, and make clearer who will be part of the turnover in our list that really is needed before we can be competitors again.

      I'm on the Chandwagon!!!

If you cannot compete for the premiership, it's better to be young and exciting than middle-aged and dowdy.

In a recent interview, Roos was saying that we have "four quality kids". Two are knocking the door which I think are Powell and LRT. For the other two, McVeigh is one of them, the other? I dont know. Probably it is between Dempster and Macelski?

When I read that comment about "four quality kids" I interpreted it as a reference to this year's draftees, and the fact that all of them were promising. If the club only has four kids of quality right across the board we are in serious trouble!

Yeah, I read that as meaning the draftees from last year.
            We hate Anthony Rocca
            We hate Shannon Grant too
            We hate scumbag Gaspar

With Schauble doing his hamstring and Bolton knocked out, both should miss next week so I would think LRT and Powell will get a go. Maybe Warfe for Sundqvist might also happen in the next few weeks.

Anyone for Warfe can't come too soon IMO. I've tried to stay away from bagging individual players over recent weeks but it's very hard to find anything good to say about his performance tonight.

I won't bag him this week or call for his head because with Schauble and Bolton out he did well to help stop Melbourne's forward line. Did nothing special, but did nothing bad. He has a few weeks left in him, but by the end of May unless his form picks up, he'll be playing in Canberra

Roosey mentioned last night about sunny, powell and LRT definitely (yes "definitely") getting game time this year, and I think there were a couple of others mentioned as distinct possibilities but i can't remember who!
