You can take the worst 6 players out of any 18 and you will struggle to win.

The Swans are not as good as our win against Geelong may suggest.

Its a shame for a team that is apparently so fit we can only manage one good quarter a week. I blame the player rotation system myself.

I have always wondered what is it your avatar is supposed to be Diego?

It looks like a little knob in swans colours

But did we really only play 1 good quarter on Saturday? We won every quarter except the first.

Yeah, fair call. Though we did struggle in the first and third. I guess when you have one quarter that is so much better than the others it clouds your judgement on all the others...

Still I feel we only played good, direct, this is the way to play the game, type football for that second quarter. After that we went back to the ineffectual kicking to touch (oops I mean the boundry ), making poor options and not getting good service to the forwards.

Harley is very useful for them to provide run from the back line.

            Ottens is not a hack.

Correct. He is an "overrated hack".

So Playfair is a hack, yet LRT is a potential champion...??

Are the two mutually exclusive ?

They were also missing Rooke, Enright, Wojcinski, and the other Johnson.

            Battlers.

Your extreme pronouncements really undermine a lot of your messages.

There's little doubt that losing these players has made a major difference to Geelong's balance.
            Not 50 point difference.

The first quarter we were outplayed by the cats who were excellent in defense, particularly Scarlett.

The third quarter only started poorly (cats scored the first 3 goals), but we finished well and truely on top in the last 10 minutes of that quarter to come out on top.

You know, I literally felt there were two Swans teams out there (or at least two strategies). The 2nd Quarter one and the rest of the game one. And, yeah, the "rest of the game" strategy was still good enough to beat Geelong. But its the 2nd Quarter one that will take us to a premiership.

Even in the 2nd quarter, I think, the ball went to Mathews and you could almost hear him thinking "This is not how Swans play, enough of this rubbish" as he kicked it out to the boundary.

If true no, but I can't imagine anyone who knows anything about football actually agreeing with that assessment!

Yeah, 20 possessions per game is battling...

Who knows what difference it makes when your structure is badly upset.

So many people here didn't mind excusing the shelacking against Port last year.

Well, I think that shows your assessments on opposition sides are not much use!

I dont necessarily think it is two different strategies. Instead it is a result of the level of pressure applied by the opposition.

When the swans are not pressured, they generally play a fast attacking, fast rebounding style of play that looks great.

When the level of pressure increases, we start to see an increase in skill errors and more sideways chipping as a natural result.

It is probably the biggest issue facing Roos to overcome to make us a genuine premiership threat.

Definitely - the latter happens in finals and is why we often struggle.
