If Monty wanted to go home...

    Imagine it.

He's from Colac. He's improving. He's been getting noticed a little by other clubs. Getting his name in despatches more regularly.

Say he thinks he'd like to play for Geelong. Say Geelong are interested. What would be a fair trade? Ling? God Jnr? Kelly? Scarlett?

Playfair. Home boy for home boy. Although I couldnt see the cats trading KP for midfielder in a month of sundays.

Draft pick would be my best. Geelong are a ok side with a great coach IMO. Stars there now, may not be as good elsewhere.

Dream on. I'd take Scarlett - then we could get rid of LRT too (throw him into the trade).

From the sounds of things at the aftermatch, Amon is happy enough to be in Sydney.

LRT is no loss, he'd be like Greg Stafford a few years ago.

Dunno if Playfair would want to come home considering he is playing for the team he followed passionately when he was a kid.

Amon has played some good games and a great game on Saturday night.Geelong have an abundance of small men. They traded Spriggs and Mololney last trade period so I hardly think Buchanan would be heading home.

Damn that Cressa! Monty said at the am that Cressa was pretty keen to get him to the Cats last year...wonder if he's now keen on getting him to Brizzie...

If Monty were considered expendable (and I am passing no comment on that) a trade with Brisbane might make sense.

They have lots of silky, highly skilled midfielders but for the hard grunt stuff in the middle rely a lot on Simon Black. They struggled with him out at the start of the year and while he was working his way back to fitness and I reckon they wouldn't mind another in-and-under type.

Something they do have a fair amount of is tall, athletic is somewhat rawish KPPs. I know these sound LRTish but they look a bit more advanced in their development. I'm not sure whether they'd be willing to part with a Merrett or Drummond or Logan but might if the price were right.

They won't part with Merrett. He's finally starting to show promise plus the fact he is a Queenslander will make it hard for the Lions to trade him. As for Drummond and Logan, they aren't KPP.

Oops - you're right on Logan. Just went and checked his details. For some reason I'd always thought he was a young tall.

Drummond I expected someone to pick me up on. He's kind of playing a defensive role at the moment and is taller than Leo, but I agree, not really a true KPP.

Garner, Spaanderman, Wood are all pretty much untried as of yet.

Wonder if they'd give us Brennan?

Llanne Spaanderman. What a name. Would love to see some of the banners at the SCG if he was in R&W.
