Adam Goodes is the barometer at the Swans, with another BOG at the weekend resulting in an easy Swans win. On his day, Goodes is unstoppable and hard to match up on, as evidenced by numerous loose checking opponents on Saturday night, albeit against a depleted Geelong outfit.
Paul Roos has finally come to the realisation of what we have always known !! Goodesy's best position is on the ball, whether it be Ruck or Ruck-Rover (currently) or even on the wing. I also like the fact that Roosy is resting Goodesy deep in the forward 50m for between 3-10 minutes every quarter, with very occasional forays to the bench. By playing Goodes deep in the forward line in short bursts, this gives the Swans forwards a chop-out and another option forward line option, but also creates headaches for opposition coaches as they then have to contend with another legitimate forward option.
I hope Roosy keeps with this tactic with Goodesy, although I think the following factors will influence Roosy's choice of where to play Goodes -
1. Injury to Goodes (naturally)
2. Injury to Ball and/or Jolly - Goodes would be put into the Ruck and, in my opinion, would not be as effective as his current role as a Ruck-Rover changing deep in the forward line.
3. Injuries and/or poor form in defence
4. Multiple Injuries and/or poor form in attack
If the above factors don't come into play - fingers crossed, then I really believe the Goodes train could have a big say in the Swans making the top 2-4, not to mention producing a lot more attacking game style at the Swans that we all know is required to reach the top 2-4.
Your thoughts on this matter please....

. Still our most influencial player. I am just too excited to see that baton being handed over to the likes of Goodes and Buchanan (and Davis). Hopefully it will last.
