Pre Match Meet Up vs Demons

Well its back to Melbourne this week for the Swans 3rd trip to play under the Dome so far this season. As per normal the Melbourne group of RWO regulars (and the fair few interlopers from interstate) will be meeting up at the Colonial Hotel in the CBD for a few drinks and a feed before heading over to the Dome to watch the Swans either win or lose.

    So here are the details

    Where: Colonial Hotel
Corner of King St and Lonsdale St
When: This Saturday from around 3.30pm

For those who haven't been to the Colonial before, it is family friendly so bring the little ones if you have them tagging along and there are quality dining options available for those looking for a pre match feed (and better quality than what you'll get in the ground).

The RWO group is usually gathered around the tables under the small TV near the Lonsdale St entry (if you have problems just look for the CS flags) and as the meet up goes on usually grows in size and we nab a fair few tables.

If you have any questions either reply below or PM me

Hope to see you all there

I think I'll be going to this for the first time.

What happens there? Just talk about the game and stuff?

If you are coming from Sydney, bring a truck-load of warm, waterproof clothing. Its like Wales down here at the moment. This is when Sydney and Brisbane should be making signals at Vic-based players coming out of contract.

Remember the ground is undercover so you won't get wet!

Undercover, but slippery, so bring your long stops.

Howdee guys, I've just relocated and settled in Melbourne this week and Im temporarily living about a block from Colonial Hotel, so I'll definately drop in to say hello.

Also, this might seem like a stupid question, but can my standard swans membership get me into Melbourne games?

Not unless it is a Melbourne-based membership.

It used to be that you got a $2 discount off general entry price if you were a member of a visiting club but even that seems to have been discontinued now. I asked for the discount at the Saints game a few weeks ago but just got a blank look in response.

Nope, Sydney based memberships don't count for anything at Melbourne grounds. You'll have to buy a GA ticket at the ground on the night.
