    Captain Goodes

Stuff the rotation policy, give it to him for the rest of the year after Jude's turn. Two terrific games as captain, back to his Brownlow form of 2003.

Well done to Roosy for allowing him the freedom to play his natural game rather than bog him down as a key forward or key defender.

I agree. Another very good game. He obviously enjoys the Captaincy but he is running third in my books behind Kirk and Hall. For me it is Kirk all the way.

Why? 2 wins against top 4 teams (when we hadnt won against a top 8 side all year), plus good form himself. How can he be 3rd ?

I won me, when he said after the Geelong game that he asked the players to play full on offensive for the 2nd quarter.

        Swans win

There are several players who would be good as captain, not the least Captain Kirk who was wonderful tonight. Big Baz also would be good as he tries his heart out no matter what, as tonight and the free he should have got that ended in a Melb goal.No wonder Leo was perplexed as the replay showed he clearly handballed the ball, Neats another goal from a free kick, how come Baz doesn't get 4 goals from free kicks? The boys were wonderful tonight but it was obvious that we need that big key defender, Neats was too strong for Leo! Constantly playing guys up to 10cm taller is not good. Think of the options with another tall, Barry, Kennelly & Bolton plus the likes of Matthews, Crouch, Schneider, Dempster and the Hyphon gives us much more pliability. Poor Leo battled on grandly tonight but thank the coach for the help he got in the second half. The boys were wonderful tonight, tough in the hard situations, where it really counts.

Schauble's only 27. Unless he's stuffed medically, we have the option.

Unfortunately Schauble's too slow for some of the blokes who are going round today. The last time he played he had to be dragged because he was being killed and there were no other options for him to go to. I think that unfortunately injury has taken ita toll on Andrew and he's lost too much pace for the game as it is played today. Also he doesn't seem as strong at the contest as he was before. Again I think the injuries have caused this and feel for him as he has been a great player for us.

I can't see Leo or Benny getting the gig, but based on what Goodesy, Kirk and Baz have delivered, I won't be complaining if we see any of those 3 faces alongside Roosy's in the Record each week.

We also have to see how Jude goes against the Weagles next week.
Goodes was interviewed on 2UE last week and was asked about who would captain the GF, he said something about having to get there first but it would be good if they could get Stuey back to capatain the side should they get that far. I thought it was a great idea and great answer.

Can a player 'withdraw with flu' between the toss of the coin and the opening bounce?

Typical negative comment from ROK Lobster: what have you ever done for this Club apart from bag players and coaches. I find your attack on Stuart disrespectful and pathetic.

Maxfield is not in the best 22. Was not for most of last year. Was not for any of this year. Will not play again. Sentiment has no place in an AFL grand final. I would consider selecting him disrespectful to the other 21 players named on Grand Final day and the young bloke that missed out. That you consider me pathetic is of no consequence what so ever. Selection policies don't come into this: it was your cheap-shot at Stewie which annoyed me, but that is is consistent with the rubbish you dish up. Sheep husbandry would seem to be a topic you know a bit about judging by your constant bleating and whinging about the Club and players you supposedly support..

What constant bleating and whinging? What cheap shot? What sort of an idiot are you? You are a disgrace. Get back under your rock. 40 odd posts in over a year - not a real fan.
