    Skipper

Well, I think there is general consensus that it should not be Benny or Leo (though I think Leo would make a fine captain all we have to go on are the performances so far). I will be interested to see how Jude goes but at the moment I think Hall is the standout. Who do others feel it should be?

I could toss a coin between Hall and Goodes. The team has played very well under both and they both displayed excellent leadership while captain. I only lean towards Hall because he's older. Goodes could become captain after Hall retires.

Going on the players' form when they've been captain and when they haven't, I think Goodes is looking the Goodes. As captain he has played 2 games that could have netted him a total of 6 Brownlow points. They have clearly been his 2 best games of the season IMO.

Compare to Barry Hall, who was awesome as captain, but has maintained that form afterwards, and possibly was even better in the last 2 weeks. I think Kirk falls into this category as well.

I just think Goodes thrives on extra responsibility. Give him Bob Carr's job and he'll win every game single-handedly!

All the more reason to choose Goodes. I would like an extended period under a relatively youthful captain. Tis Adam is Goodes.
He had observed that people who did lie were, on the whole, more resourceful and ambitious and successful than people who did not lie.

          Kirk or Hall.

            Goodes for me - still.

Baz still makes me cringe when he's having a relatively "off" game and I sit wondering how long before he belts someone. I know he's improved markedly in the last few years but was a tad lucky not to get cited after the Collingwood game for a stupid, pointless act.

I really didn't think Goodes would make as much of an impact as he has. I originally thought he'd be too quiet, too timid, though that was not the case. He led onfield and just popped up everywhere. So yes, I liked him as captain. Though, there was something about Kirky's reign that I loved...

That said, I am keen to see how Jude goes in the forthcoming weeks. I am quietly confident he will do well, then I'll be able to reevaluate my overall decision. But so far, I would pick Kirk over Goodes

For mine, it's definitely between Kirk, Goodes and Hall. At the start of the captaincy rotation my pick for captain was Kirk - I really admire his courage and work ethic. He'd be a workhorse type captain in the vain of Paul Kelly.

On the other hand, now that I've seen how the captaincy rotation has panned out, I am tending to favour Goodes. He's an inspirational, lead-from the front type player who has the ability to really get us into games. He's also courageous - the way he played on through injury in 2004 is admirable.

Hall is another obvious choice but like Liz, I'm concerned that he still has the tendancy to lose it every now and again. Perhaps the captaincy would force him to be more disciplined.

That said, I'd really like to see how the rest of the season pans out. The club have indicated they're keen to continue the rotation policy into the finals. If that's the case, I'm keen to wait and see what unfolds and take full advantage of the system before I make up my mind.

I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline

Make him captain and he might have a year like Maxfield's?

                          i'm a Kirk man.
I reckon the Captain has the 'smarts' and he will present well when we receive the Premiership Trophy.I wouldn't really mind if Goodes or Baz gets it but i would prefer them to concentrate on there own 'match winning' games and let Kirkie just lead by example (like Kel)
Problem is, when we pick up the winning trophy this year, it may not be his 'rotation'.Ok, maybe it will be Benny's turn.....wouldn't that be a laugh for some.
Oh, by the way, the 'neckless Benny' has been playing ok for the last couple of weeks without racking up a pile of easy possessions.I thought a couple of his tackles yesterday were bloody frightening and a bit out of character for him to go so 'Jude-ish'.And nice for him and Amon picking up a goal.
