    Jude Bolton really amuses me

Tonight he kicks a goal from over 50 right through the middle in the most pressure cooker situation yet he misses players from 25 metres.

Yes, that is JB for you. Still, I actually enjoyed his game tonight, despite the clangers. I think he actually has improved.

Jude has really don't well this year and is starting to get a bit of the ball. Him and Kirk could team up well in the centre
      Once was, now elsewhere

jude was very good in and under last night, please watch his efforts in the centre and the packs.he ties up the ball or the opponent, often gets the short h pass out.i believe he has been among our better players all season.them team needs him and there should be no thought of trading him.
please watch closely, not just in the open....

It's called pressure - Jude's skills aren't terrible - he just plays to tense. You knew he wouldn't kick the first because he looked too tense. Second kick he looked relaxed - slotted it through.

Most of Jude's problems are in his head, needs to relax a bit, plays to intense.

Any chance you could give some of that intensity to Nicks Jude.

I believe that Jude has taken on board a lot of the criticisms. He understands that this is make or break year and he is going to do everything to make it. Talking to others in the Club, they have a lot of admiration for his persistence and attitude. I think that his game has stepped up this year. Sure, he can still improve, but he's playing well.

I also firmly believe that we can't expect any player to play a perfect game. I had a manager once who said that if you didn't make a mistake, you weren't trying hard enough, I've taken that to heart.

Interesting, before yesterday's game, I was watching the replay of last time they met and the commentators were giving Jude a big rap, and he was playing well.

I thought he was okay last night. Didn't do too many stupid things and was very useful in the packs and in the centre.

I think he is improving, and is certainly more useful than last year, but has a long long way to go yet to be at the standard I expect him to be.

Our midfield was well beaten until the last qtr, part of the reason because Williams was well tagged early. J Bolton, like a number of others, need to stand up more, as a member of that midfield. Still, at least he is managed to get a decent number of possessions finally last night, so that mitigates his responsibility somewhat.

He has now been given the opportunity with Kels retiring.
Always loved his harness at the ball

You can teach a player skills, but you can't teach them guts.

He's not a bad overhead mark for his size either.

Don't compare him to Kelly, but lets not forget how raw Kel was
                    at the same age (22)

Kel was never a reliable goalkicker either

He was definitely a happy chappy at the after-match, unusually open in expressing himself and what he was thinking about things. He gave the impression he wanted to around the supporters, which is a nice change.

Also interesting was the fact that he seemed to take great pleasure in brandishing a Stewie Maxfield mask up on stage.

Obviously a gee-up at the expense of his captain.

Talking about bad kicks did anyone spot Fosdike's 10 metre grubber which was supposed to be a pass on the chest. Another goal opportunity goes begging.

I agree, I have noticed him do this many times myself when the other team could break away he bottles it up with a good tackle or hardness at the ball.

Not many people on here have ever criticised Jude's ticker...criticism, from me at least, has always been aimed at his poor kicking and decision-making; but I made the point a couple of weeks ago that in both these areas he appeared to have improved noticeably. I think maybe Reggi has a good point here about him being tense...maybe it's a legacy of the eade era of not wanting to be balled out for a mistake...
"Davis...Davis has kicked 2...he snaps from 40...dont tell me, dont tell me, hes kicked a goal....unbelievable stuff from Nick Davis, can you believe this, he's kicked 3 final quarter goals and Swans are within 3 points..."
