    Malceski

Gun!! He is a sensational kick of the footy and has a great footy brain. Should not get dropped from the 22 again this year, he could be the star midfielder we are after. We have the likes of Kirk and Buchanan getting the hard ball, we now have Nick able to deliver amazingly well to the forward line. Honestly, I cannot think of anyone in the team that can kick as sharp has him.
    - Impossible is just a big word thrown around by small men who find it easier to live in a world they've been given, than to explore the power they have to change it. Impossible is not a fact, it's an opinion. Impossible is not a declaration, it's a dare. Impossible is potential. Impossible is temporary. Impossible is nothing!

Is a beautiful, low, penetrating kick of the footy, that invariably hits the target dead on - similiar to Hunt of Geelong.

yes...also love the way he plays, although i reckon he would have had the least gametime of anyone on saturday (between him and dempters). from the recent malceksi thread is clear he's got a lot of fans already from someone who's only played a couple of games. a real talent (and another one who's crept under the radar - which is the way we seem to develop players)

Before Malceksi started to play, I got a bit worried he would turn out to be a dud but look at him now.
Vicky Pollard: Oh my god I so can't believe you just said that this is like the time I threw Anita's nokia in the canal as a joke and she's like you have well got to buy me another one and I'm like get over it and then Paul came over who's adopted anyway and started saying that I fancy Mark Bennett but oh my god just because I have sex with someone doesn't mean I fancy them.

Those two kicks at the end of the fourth quarter were his only two kicks for the match I think. That's probably why he didn't get too much game time - he seemed to play the entire first quarter but hardly touched the ball.

Having said that, his kicking is excellent and he'll find more of the ball in the midfield (was playing in a FP in the first quarter). If he can average 20 possessions each week he'll be a match winner.

Bit early to call him a gun, but he has done useful things with the ball on the rare opportunities he's had. The Carlton game is probably the best he has had, so far that I've seen.

Those two kicks he had at the end of the match were"centimetre perfect".
It must be a massive step up for the seconds for these guys but Roosy has to persist with the likes of Malceski and Moore because we have been really lucky with injuries compared to other teams in the eight and we need to have players prepared to step up.
They were bagging Nick Davis on the Footy Show yesterday saying he just lulls about, kicks his couple of goals and does nothing else.Looking over his seasins stats I tend to disagree with that.

Off topic for Mal, but I agree that anyone making those comments has not been watching Davis' whole season. I assume they were making this judgement based on Saturday night, he only had 11 disposals (which is as many as Willo) that were pretty much evenly spread through the game but I can't think of any clangers in that 11. I thought he played a (suprisingly) mature game, his man was getting a bit of the pill in the first half and giving the Dees some run forward but Davis appeared to drag him deeper and that run pretty much did dry up.
Davis seriously cannot catch a break with some people.
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline

Wow, great point. I agree, Roos should get Schauble and Saddo in a bit more and even Spriggs to give us more depth heading into the finals. I was going to say that McVeigh is obviously on a higher level than guys like Moore, Schneider and Malceski but getting them more experience to give us more depth is a great luxury to have at this point of the season.

Btw... don't watch the footy show.

One of the most pleasing aspects of Sat nite is that it must have been close to our youngest team of the year - Moore, Dempster, Mal, even LRT, Schneids. They may have not all got great game time but they all contirubted in some form.

Not on a first year player's salary. He helped Barry carry them.

I have been pushing for the 'tray carry' to be included in career statistics for ages. At last people are noticing its importance !

Pretty certain I saw him gathering the jumpers after the game. Always one of the least glamorous but most important chores, as anyone who has ever had to play in a jumper that has spent the week in one of his teammates car boots will testify.
