The CS sure sounded good from where I was sitting.

Couldn't hear the Dees CS at all - any chants I did hear seemed to come from the city side wing.

there is little wonder victorians are picked on like happens when the word "interstaters " is waged soooo often.

can we please use the phrase "outside victoria"

you know somethings DO happen outside victoria!!!!

this coming from a born and raised victorian ex-sydneysider that now lives in brisbane. i kinda get to see it all in action!!!!!!

so remember the phrase "non victorian" about as many syllables!

love ya work kids, and kudos again to the melbourne based squad. now if us swans supporters in south east queensland and the northern rivers of nsw got some attention from the club, we would have made about as much noise as we did up here at the gabba last time round. we certainly did at the pineapple!

peace love and mung beans from bris-vegas

You have a real problem about Victoria and I notice you often try to turn threads into Victoria bashings. What is your problem? There are good and bad features of all Australian cities. No need to be so sensitive.

Pete's a TV star! Almost certainly the most recognisable Swans supporter.

anniswan.......i am not about to re-open old wounds here.

just think outside the pentagon here sweetie and think what people outside of victoria think about the phrase "interstaters"

it sends the message that we're not wanted!!!

just like when robbie was asked by some wanker in melbourne the day of the footscray pre season game at the dome......"why do you barrack for an interstate side..................?"

being a victorian who thankfully left long ago for broader horizions (hey good for me but im not saying that anyone who stuck around is bad..........i still love my family and friends down in mexico way), i have figured out that there is much more to life than simple crap like that.

                      food for thought kids

just think of the crap i get here for being a swans supporter, but anni, i give it back to them!!!!!

the love of being a supporter of a club that hasnt won the big one in 72 frigging years!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !

Why would Victorians get picked on because of the use of 'interstaters'? To a Victorian, anyone from another state is essentially an interstater, the same as is the case in other states. People in Sydney call people from other states, interstaters too. It just means someone not from your state.

I said I'd throw her at him if he kept it up.

CS got really, really loud a couple of times.
i must have been sitting very close to you then. Was this the same guy who was standing up behind all the seats in aisle 1 or 2? The abuse was something I've never experienced before (first game in melb) but I must say that, despite it all, I love the passion shown by all supporters.

I even get abused (jokingly) at work for being a Swans supporter - its great cos we're sitting in 4th on the ladder!

I'd definately consider sitting closer to the CS again next time the Swans play down here. It was awesome to get amongst the singing and laughing.

oh some of you just dont get it.

interstaters, like pakeha in NZ is not a term to describe others, its a form of nationalism.

i personally find it insulting, thinking that this is AUSTRALIA!!!!!!!!

                            arent we the same country??????

aussie rules footy is blooming here in south east queensland and this "interstaters" thing pisses people off up here.

we are all supporting the same game. so can we stop this "interstater" bull**** as most sydney swans supporters in this day and age ARE interstaters!

like here at the gabba (and i live just off vulture street kids, so i mean HERE at the gabba) us SWANS FANS created some magic up here a couple of months ago. and thats a magic mix of victorians, new south welshmen/women and a few queenslanders to mix!!!!

thats the beauty of being australian as our club is, not just a mix of a few melbournians and a few "interstaters"

                            puh-lease, thats an insult.

bring on the mosaic that is the sydney swans fc.

                            love yas all

The only reference I saw to 'interstaters' was by Nico, who was explaining suburbs to people not from this state.
