Being "Up" For The Big Games

In today's SMH, Roos is quoted on the subject of preparing to play the runaway competition leaders (remember when we beat the 10-0 Saints last year?):

"You might target a game that you see as critical," he said. "But when I listen to [Lions coach] Leigh Matthews talk about footy, he tends to talk about every game as hard and you shouldn't be up for one game and down for the next. I think we are trying to instil in our team that it shouldn't matter whether you are playing the 16th team on the ladder or the first team on the ladder."

Good to hear that they are trying to instil this mindset, as it has been commented here before how frustrating it is that the Swans can get themselves up to play the Lions then lose to Richmond the following week. To their credit, the Swans over the last 9 weeks seem to have been pretty consistently switched on.

PS: A South African notes that Roos is a very common name in SA (meaning "Rose" in Dutch / Afrikaans) and that another Paul Roos is a famous figure there. Anyone know if our coach has Dutch or African heritage?

I'm "up" for the game this weekend. I might even take my Swans flag with me (what I call a "flagworthy game").
    Occupational hazards:
I don't eat animals since discovering this ability. I used to. But one day the lamb I was eating came through to me and ever since then I haven't been able to eat meat.
