    Running The Cox Flacid

I suspect one of the keys to success on Sunday will be to run this bloke into the ground and apply lots of physical pressure.

Do they have a "back-up" big man or are we looking at another Jeff White situation, i.e. 3 on 1?

If we do have that luxury, then we need to make the most of it. I know he performs well on big grounds but he also gets the run of it (tired talls). Coming off a physical game against the Lions as well as a long flight to Sydney, he might be vulnerable!

What kind of pressure did Collingwood's ruck division apply to the big fella?

Lots of questions and no answers from me, who's willing to speculate?

I recall someone mentioning Seaby as their Viagra.

I am just glad we only have one Ball in our team. Although there is that little tune about Hitler...

Seaby, and not Gardiner is the Eagles second ruckman. So no change in that area.

Supposedly Cox is one of the fittest & most mobile in their squad so running him til he's "spent" will be a difficult ask.

Still same might be said about White, tho I imagine Seaby is a better Viagra than Holland (too much Dutch courage?).

Cox vs Ball ... hmm. I'm leaving that one alone.

I saw Cox play against Hawthorn here at York Park on Mother's Day and I was amazed at how much running he did and York Park is a biggish ground, soooooo it will take a bit to wear him down.

Just as well Peter Nuss isn't playing as well as Ball and Cox.

It would certainly result in one hell of a tackle...

So the consensus is that Ball rather than Cox will get knackered?

Not so much as running him ragged but having both the big Ball & Jolly smash into him (and Seaby) at the centre bounce and throw ins and wear them down.

Then throw Goodes as the around the ground ruckman for the last 10 minutes of the quarter and see if both Seaby and Cox can keep up.

Both Ball & Jolly battered White last week which limited his effectiveness in the end.

Reminds me of an old drinking song

Jolly, has only one brass ball
Cox, has two but very small
                        Davis, has got the syphilis
But poor old Jason Ball has no balls at all.

Love when the innocent Kevin Bartlett refers to Cox, as "Big Cox" gets the ball etc etc.

                            Rough him up.
We have to be bloody physical in this game and set the tone from the opening bounce, even if it means giving away a few free kicks at times where it isnt critical. Just hit him and make sure it hurts.
                            - Impossible is just a big word thrown around by small men who find it easier to live in a world they've been given, than to explore the power they have to change it. Impossible is not a fact, it's an opinion. Impossible is not a declaration, it's a dare. Impossible is potential. Impossible is temporary. Impossible is nothing!

Cox is not only good in ruck contests but is very agile around the ground. Seaby is a handy back-up. From memory in their loss to Collingwood, Cox did the bulk of the ruck work. Gardiner played the whole game up forward and kicked 2 or 3 goals.
