    Fosdike

Great effort from Fossie since his return.

Averages 14 possies and a goal a game, very good from the bench.

No way any of the youngsters have come close to that from the bench, just shows his value. His reappearnce and our up turn in form cannot be a coincidence surely ?

Our up turn in form started about 10 weeks ago whilst Fossie has only played the last 3.

However, he was good in his first game back and he was on the weekend (when he got the ball) - can't remember what he did in the in between match. He's got some good skills when he gets involved in a match and is one of those players who could improve enough to make us a real flag chance over the next few years. Just needs to play well 22 weeks a year.

Also, we lost his first game back.

He had 16 disposals and no goals against Geelong.

He had 6 disposals and no goals against Melbourne.

That's a very misleading use of averages!

I must really be a 'half-full' kind of guy.
I thought, that after a good first game, he was his typical self against Geelong and worse against Melbourne.

I have to agree with the original post here, i have been very excited by fozzies return, i tought he's been very useful and his skill compared to buchanan or schnieder is like comparing apples and poo. Apples are much nicer.

Fosdike has always been better than a lot of guys on the list. The problem with Fosdike is how much POTENTIAL he has? Frankly, I think he is as good as he will ever be. While guys that he is better than like, McVeigh, Dempster, Malceski, Schneider etc have more of an upside.

(I think Buchanan is now better than him)

That is a huge call, one good game and suddenly he's better than fosdike? I dunno. But i am happy to see young players like this playing hard for their spots.

Bucky has had more than one good game.

But over a career I guess Fosdike is going to be a safer bet than Buchanan...

I place fosdike with mcVeigh - I am always looking for them to play that one big game but they never do. Actually I reckon Fosdikes best game I can remember was against Richmond.

Anyway they are those fringes players that I think are the trigger to changing the swans from pretenders to contenders. If those guys strike form then the swans suddenly have a plethora of running players who can attack - that that makes them a dangerous side to match up on.

But if they stay as they are - the Swans are then always 2-3 players short of a really strong side - and thus the Swans are always convering for that fact.

                              Anyway just my ramblings....
