    Reserve Game Stats

    Sydney 9-4 15-7 18-10 21-14/140 def Eastlakes 0-2 2-2 4-4 7-5/47

    Goals:
    Stevens 4
    Buchanon 4
    Hunt 3
    Ablett 2
    McVeigh 2
    O'Keefe 2
    Lloyde 2
    McGlone 1
    McPherson 1

Stats for listed players. We had 17 listed players play in the twos.

    O'Keefe - 18 Kicks 7 H'Balls 8 Marks
    LRT - 13-K 9-H 10-M
    McPherson - 12-10-6
    Buchanon - 15-7-6
    Powell - 10-10-5
    Ablett - 11-9-4
    Thewlis - 8-9-0
    McVeigh - 6-8-3
    Seymour - 9-5-6
    Stevens - 10-4-9
    McGlone - 7-6-3
    Sundquist - 8-3-4
    Dempster 9-1-3
    Malceski 4-6-4
    Hunt 7-0-6
    Crawford - Didn't do (sorry)
    Bevan - Ditto.

IMHO - Powell should come in for injury or Warfe. 20 possies from CHB in a side that won by 93 points speaks for itself.

    LRT was very good.

Special mention to Josh Thewlis. This guy splits packs wide open. Fearless and very clean with his hands. Didn't take a mark all game yet amassed 17 possies from deep in the backline by continually mopping up, often in traffic, and streaming downfield.

Reggi, mark him down as my new lovechild!!!

LRT and Powell should get the call this week for Schauble and Bolton. I don't think the Swans will risk Bolton after the hit he took, best he misses a week. Good to see them play well and ditto with the other young kids
    Once was, now elsewhere

You're a legend Triple (BTW tried to call back couldn't get through)

Marked down Thewlis as lovechild - rules are you must defend him to the death.

BTW here he has tunnel vision with disposal.

If LRT was ok I would consider playing him - especially if Schauble was injured.

I figure Thewlis will come in for Warfe - they're from the same part of Vic anyway Thewlis from Donald Warfe from Golden Square.

Other than Powell, any that are demanding a senior game.

        Anyone to replace Nicks?

        BTW love your work

Seymour must be favourite to come in for Bolton/Schauble . . . did anyone see how he went in the reserves?

Seymour was OK without starring. He worked to a fairly set plan each quarter. Played forward or back for the 1st 10 minutes, went onto the ball for 10 minutes and sat on the pine for the rest of the quarter. This pattern was followed every quarter, obviously working on a fitness plan of some sort.

Powell definately did enough to warrant a vacant backline spot ahead of Seymour however.

As for Nicks, the usual suspects put their hand up. RO'K, Ablett, Frosty etc.

Buchanon was also very good, but one suspects he will need to go the Tonya Harding strategy on Schneider's kneecaps to gain a spot.

Reggi, whilst singing the praises of Thewlis, I doubt if he is ready for seniors yet.

I will continue to monitor his disposal, I can't say I've noticed a problem. However, I have been guilty before of claiming lovechild status of players who go in and get it, before I realised they had NFI what to do when they did, Licuria and Warfe (pre-injury) spring to mind.

BTW, at the aftermatch, Roos didn't see too concerned about C.Bolton. Wouldn't be at all surprised to see him play this week under the circumstances, ie. we have nobody else!!

i'd like to say that the reserves game was great. It was great to see the young swans players stand up and show what they can do.
one thing that game showed is the Frosty should stay in reserves, scott stevens should be promoted back to 1st grade.

It was great to see Amon Buchanan and brad seymour back playing finally. Especially Amon with his 4 goals.

Is there an official best players anywhere.

We desparately need LRT to turn into a tough/ good key defender.

Anyone make mention of how he looked?

Sydney has had a poor past of not dropping players for bad performances in the seniors......

With players like Hunt/LRT/Powell/O'Keefe/Stevens waiting in the wings......they need to be promoted. This will send a clear message to the likes of Nicks etc that poor performances are not tolerated at this club......Swans need to be more professional in this regard.
Will this be the year !!!!

Thanks J S interesting that LRT & Powell were named as the best.

Ch 9 reported this morning that Schauble & Bolton were in likely to play. For mine Nicks and Warfe should be dropped for these guys.

If not now then soon we need to develop at least one quality key defender. Interesting to see if they keep Meiklejohn - tough to drop a guy after one week.

Geez I hope the above two can play.

IMO they will not drop Meiklejohn . As well as developing him for the future I regard him as good insurance if Ball or Goodes gets injured during the course of a game. He is still only 18 and is a good long term proposition
