    andrew schuable

I have never used one of these forums before or have never been online or in a chat room so bear with me. Hope I am not going over old ground but one question I have for anybody to answer is what is happening with Andrew Schuable? I know he is playing in reserves, is there something I have missed in news or whatever, he was an instant selection there at one time. thank you

    Hi and Welcome.

You are covering old ground, because we have been asking that question ourselves for a month or so. And guess what? We still don't know the answer.

It is one of the great mysteries. Most thought that Roos had decided he was too slow for our current style of play, mainly because he was dropped (according to Roosy) "because there were no appropriate matchups" He appeared to be Gone as Neitz was an obvious match up.

However, listening to Leo Barry on WLF it may be more to do with Schaubles fitness IMHO.

Hard to tell as players dont give much away on TV interviews but it seemed as if Schaubs was struggling so was went to 2's to get fit. No proof for this just theory.

        thanks re Schauble

thank you to those who replied to my question it is as I suspected we really do not know and I guess it remains to be seen. Not a bad person to have coming into the team around finals though. Hope he returns, if he is too slow that developed quickly, I like his footy smarts and is he is strong and solid in defence, no frills, does his job. Wish him the best anyway.

Wouldn't mind seeing Benny Fixter running around soon either, according to the injury list in the papers he has been 1-2 weeks away from playing for as long as I can remember. I think he'll be an absolute gun once he overcomes his injury problems.

That's the funniest post I've read all day.

                I want him back!!!

Don't think it's going to happen this week though, Roosy hinted at an unchanged lineup.

A fully match fit Fixter would be just the man to keep Matera in his box . I remember a game in ?02 when he comprehensively towelled up Milne. There are some short memories around here.

He?s only had two weeks back in the magoos and was extremely rusty in his first game back. If he stays healthy, maybe could be a wildcard for the finals. I seem to recall Roos saying at the start of the year that a fully fit Fixter is in our top 22.

Many here seem to have written Benny off. I wish him good luck, I?d hate to see him depart like Wade Chapman.

We shouldn't put any pressure on Fixter though. It is more importance for him to keep healthy for an extended period. He has been away from the game for too long. Rushing him back too early does him more harm than good I think. Round 1 next year should be the target he should be looking at.

                      Wise comments, I concur.

Love The Fix, but bringing him back early last year didn't help his cause. Needs a pre-season, skills work, some trials and see how he goes from there.

Bring on The Fix in 2006!

Also agree, more than handy when fit, as can play a number of roles.

Would be sad to see him go due to chronic injuries

How would that be different to now?
