      That's great!

However - I hope QBE is paying the correct market rates and not a lower rate thanks to their loyalty.

The sponsorship of Sydney should be one of the most lucrative in the business.

Does anyone have a rumoured figure?

That's the problem with modern day medicine - there's no more natural selection of the species.
No wonder there's so many Collingwood fans.

I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

I have a mate who works for Citibank / Citicorp who are one of the next tier of sponsor, and she reckoned that Citibank were very keen to establish themselves as the primary sponsor in the near future.

Competition is healthy for the club but I also reckon it's great that they have such a long standing association with such a highly respected company. I reckon there is a very high level of association of QBE and the Swans within the football supporter community (outside the Swans) and within the broadly-sports-conscious Sydney public, and while the club is regularly winning games (as it has for most of the past decade) I suspect QBE sees it as a very positive association for them. And to QBE's credit, they stuck by the club even when it was a no-hoper in footballing terms, in the early 1990s.

I worked at Citigroup for the 2nd half of last year - the social club had a draw each week to win tickets to each Swans games - I think they'd bought 12 memberships, 6 winners each game won a double pass.

Was surprised to see their sponsorship step up this year, but they're obviously keen to ramp it up further.

Liz, what area does your friend work in?

                  I'm on the Chandwagon!!!

If you cannot compete for the premiership, it's better to be young and exciting than middle-aged and dowdy.

I reckon it's great to have that sort of stability in that area.

Stabillity is one thing, but the Swans should be one of the richest clubs by now and they are not.

An Aussie Rules team in a Rugby League/Union state should be one of the richest clubs?

We have more competition for the sponsorship dollar than any other team in the country. There are 11 league clubs in NSW. Plus the Waratahs. Plus the Wallabies & Kangaroos that take sponsorship dollars aimed at NSW/QLD. Plus the NSW SOO side.

We are doing very well to be relatively profitable. There is no reason why we should be one of the richest clubs.
