Making him play on Davey last week certainly seems to have given him a new perspective. He seems to be understanding now what the value of hard work coupled with raw speed can lead to.

Agree. Roos definitely had a number of reasons for creating that matchup and they weren't just defensive.

I was mainly impressed with his attitude. He's getting very annoyed at himself when he makes a mistake which I think shows that he has learnt to expect more from himself. Also, I noticed when I watched the replay that there is no-one more attentive in the 1/4 & 3/4 time huddles. To the extent that he doesn't seem to even blink - wouldn't be surprised if Roosy is a bit freaked out.

        Hero of the week:

ADAM SCHNEIDER (Sydney) - The Swans' goalsneak made a welcome return to form on Sunday and produced his best performance in an injury-marred 2005 season, which has seen the one time regular fixture in Sydney's attack play just seven games.

Schneider was far from best man on the ground in the Swans' upset win of league leaders West Coast at the SCG but he just kept bobbing up at crucial times to help his side inflict only the second loss on the Eagles all season.

After the Eagles had regained the lead midway through the third term, Schneider kicked a great running goal to immediately put the Swans back in front.

It would turn out to be the first of six successive Swans goals in the third and fourth terms which sealed the game but Schneider's contribution was far from over.

With the Swans leading by just ten points at the last change, he kicked the all-important first goal of the final term and then shortly after set up Michael O'Loughlin for another to end the Eagles' resistance and show yet again that when he is fit he is a valuable member of the Swans' forward line.
        Hero of the week

Tho' I think the injury ridden 2005 is not quite right.

You watch. The peroxide tips will be back by next weekend. Mark my words kiddies.

You have to admit Schneider with dirty brown hair just doesn't look right, does it?

If he's taken over his first half of yesterday's game he should be wearing sackcloth and ashes. But when it counted in the second half he became accountable and invaluable.

And the man who started it, the Schneiderman, can kick his third for the quarter. And the swans are in the Grand Final!

Article online today re Schneiders good game on Sunday. I hope he doesnt read too much of this praise for fear that it will over inflate his ego and cause him to lose focus on continuing to improve his onfield skills. Does anyone here know much about Schneider as a person - is he prone to big headedness?

Well "confidence" players like Adam and Nick tend to go overboard either way. They are either "arrogant" or "depressed" and struggle to maintain an attitued in between. Their performances imitate their mood at the time, either up or down.

And we still wonder why we receive SMS's such as "DON'T TOUCH MY SCHNEIDS! HANDS OFF HIM HE IS ALL MINE DON'T GO NEAR HIM I LOVE HIM I WANT HIM HANDS OFF!" etc..

I have received a few of them in my time! Take the five I received on Sunday as just the tip of the iceberg...

Plus lots of messages left with Gunter, the Nordic ski instructor. It would appear that VJ is a fast learner on the slopes, just like 'goat on bicycle'!....
