Never seen anything like the Jolly Red Giant piggybacking the ball out of the middle. Nearly as effective as stuffing it up your jumper. One for the archives!
And what a terrific pick-up he has been.
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)
The piggyback was classic...fooled everyone. He and Ball are a formidable duo atm, and not simply in the ruck contests. As someone mentioned above, he (and Ball too) is taking important marks all around the ground. Add to that his goal - I was sitting right behind it and it was magnificent, sailing straight through the middle. Well done.
jolly has been a great pickup for us. the dees wish they still had him now to help white out but thats their problem. jolly and ball (and goodes if u want to count him) are becoming a damn fine ruck combination and heres hoping they can continue to carve up like they have been lately
I would have thought he may have been pinged for a throw to Monty. Wouldnt have been surprised with the quality of umpiring - how was that free against Goodes for a push!!!
- Impossible is just a big word thrown around by small men who find it easier to live in a world they've been given, than to explore the power they have to change it. Impossible is not a fact, it's an opinion. Impossible is not a declaration, it's a dare. Impossible is potential. Impossible is temporary. Impossible is nothing!

Originally posted by Schneiderman I was wondering whether he technically had possession of the ball. Maybe the umpires were too. Certainly there has no way he could handball OR kick it
Maybe the umps had no idea, at that stage, or were just peeing themselves laughing.
