Battle of the Birds Part II

If the Eagles match was big, the one against the Crows is even bigger as if we lose it, we give up any hope of finishing in second spot.

We have suffered some absolute beltings at the hands of the Crows at Footy Park and I could not think of a sweeter time to reverse the ledger.

Also the game there two years ago when Carey + goal umpire stole it at the end still stands fresh in my mind.

This game is for all the marbles.

With big matches against Essendon, Kangaroos and Brisbane coming up - we need these four points against the Crows.

Can't remember us even playing there under lights. Anyways its not really important seeing we've only played them there 3 times since 2001 and both sides are very different now.

They will be pumped up alot by the media this week and going for a club record 6 wins lets hope they can't handle the pressure.

Weel I would take the '96 game out. As we were a crap team back then, b4 an amazing resurgence that year.

The Roos made them work hard for their win in the end and TD is a tough surface to play on.

Stick to the game plan. An even contribution from all. One week at a time. OMG I'm channelling Paul Roos.

I still think we are a better team than the Crows.

But a month ago I wrote that we have to show we can win the hard games or why bother? "and imagine if we won all four of these!". Just one game away from that particular fantasy coming true.

i really wouldn't worry about any of the night match info. all really old applying to a different line-up, coach and game-plan.
then again, i think it would be worth trying 15-16 players on field so what would i know

We want revenge for that game, in addition to wanting the 4 points in an 8 point game to try to take 2nd place from the Crows.

My father is a Crows supporter and talking to him last night he thinks that Sydney will beat them, based on what he's seen of both teams over the last few weeks. The Crows had another last quarter fade out yesterday, the 3rd in the last 4 games. Sydney will want to punish them severely if they do it again this wekend.

I think the secret to beating the Crows at Crow Park is to do one or more of the following:
                          (1) Lead at quarter time to take the ferals out of the game.
                          (2) Lead at three quarter time and spank them in the last when they fade out again.

The Swans finish games well, and the Crows don't. I hope we exploit this well.

We should invite the Port cheer squad to come and support the Swans squad (free beer?). Think outside the square! Seriously!

I'd almost go as far as to say that if we are within 5 goals at 3 quarter time, we're a chance of winning, given their last quarter fadeouts! I think in both games in 2003 against them they got off to a flyer, only for us to come back in the second half.

I remember the Swans always struggled against the Crows ever since 98/99 when I first became interested in AFL.
