    Match ups V crows

We all know how deadly adelaide can be all over the field maybe even more than the WCE! They have such a big strong forward line, a very capable midfield with the likes of the roo and co!
Who do we play where and who on?

Do you play our taggers in the midfield to try stop em getting the ball in the first place? Mayb have Kirk, Ablett in the middle and leave crouch in defense?
Do we need a bigger backline?
I really dont know they have so many ppl to takeinto account.

    What do you all think?

There is no obvious choice for Crouch to play on in the Crows forward line so he may play as a defensive forward on McLeod who is playing off a half back or back pocket at present. Adelaide will try and get Mcleod onto Davis so he can work off him.

Kirk will get the Roo as he has the runs on the board. Jude Bolton to go head to head with Goodwin.

I would also think that Ablett would get first crack at Scott Thompson on the wing.

Barry is the man for Scott Welsh and LRT will get first crack at McGreggor who has great endurance but so does LRT so should be an interesting dual.

As for the Crows match ups, The Birdman will take Goodes everywhere he goes so get ready for Goodes to spend time deep in the forward line and try and work him over in front of goal.

Rutten, their best defender this year will get Hall and Micky will resume battle with his usual opponent in Ben Hart.

As for the rest it is man on man accountable football all over the park, just the way we and the Crows like it.

Can't wait to head over to Footy Park to see this one live.

PS Craig Bolton to get Perry as well.

Crouch on McLeod, Kirk on Riccuito, Leo on Welsh, Schauble on McGregor (I wish - it will be LRT). Edit - heh, I just read DST's post and discovered that I'm not adding anything new here. Sorry!

If we shut down three of those four, we're a big chance.

I like the matchups you have suggested there DST. I'm not sure the Crouch to the forward line option will happen, perhaps Schneider can help keep McLeod accountable. Hopefully Goodes can rebound from yesterday's game, and do to Burton what he did to Bruce.

I hope their lesser lights like Mattner and Skipworth don't fire up like they did last time.

Wouldn't that require accountability from Schneider himself?

Schiender is an option for McLeod as he could very easily kick 4 or 5 on him but I think we are going to need someone who has the mental toughness to just stick him like glue. The trick is not so much to stop his posessions (although that does help) it is to pressure him so they are not effective at all.

The Crows have often tried to get McLeod on other aboriginal players as they feel he intimidates them so maybe MOL, though I think Micky is a much more mature option than some of the young players he's been pitted against. He has played back every match this year with the odd rotation into the midfield. Their wingers Mattner and Burton are very dangerous with the latter having a huge engine and being potent in the air and on the ground. Their forward line is underrated as they have an even spread and most can kick multiple goals. They have a bit of height too but Welsh can play tall and be quite nimble on the ground. Their defence plays tight and they get a lot of rebound from there. Their skills are superb so they need to be placed under extreme pressure to stop their fluency.
